Reinaldo Ray Velazquez Prestige Properties Realty told me to pay commission check to his home in Bal Harbor rather than directly to him and not his broker in The Villages and Miami Florida
Mr Velazquez has always been a little shady but he rented the appartment quickly. We never questionned him until earlier this year he sent a letter to us asking us to pay renewal money directly to his personal attention at an address in Bal Harbour. We called his broker and were told that absolutely not all commissions are paid to brokerage and not to any agent personally. Our lawyer said it against licensing laws in florida for money to be paid to the agent. We were advised to file a report with the dpbr and we did. If he asks you to pay directly to him, contact his broker immediately. He was apperently fired from his last company but they would not discuss reasons. Be aware

As the Broker for Prestige Properties Realty, I can tell you that I was not contacted by anyone nor have I ever been contacted by a landlord concerning this or any other transaction. This person saying "We called his broker and were told that absolutely not....." is a fabrication. They probably didn't think I would ever see this report. Likewise, Ray was not fired from his former Brokerage.
