Complaint Review: Relay Services Of WA And AT&T Relay Services (TTY)

Our autobody repair facility has been receiving scam phone calls from an individual using the TTY relay services for the deaf. In the call they say they have an uncle in New York that wants to give them a Caddilac Escalade for free but it has to be repaired. They ask if our facility would repair the vehicle if it was here and we answer yes. They then ask if they can give us a credit card that we can charge $3,500 to, keep $1,000 as a down payment for repairs and then send $2,500 in a money order to some towing company to have the vehicle brought to Washington. When I tell them this is not something I do and that almost all towing companies will accept their credit card, they disconnect. they are trying to get you to send the money and then their payment will not go through and you are stuck with paying the $2500 out of pocket to what im sure is a fake towing company. do not fall for this scam!
