REM STUDIOS Robert Owczarek , Latte They will rip money off of you and kill your dreams. Chicago Illinois
REM Studio is unorganized and untrustworthy company
I have been one of the victims of the REM Studios Agency. I have paid over $6,000 (plus extra $350 for surveillance because I was underage traveling without my mother) and I will probably regret this to the rest of my life. For this amount of money I went to IMTA thru them to be basically locked in a hotel room all week long! I was lost and confuse!
Here are the reasons why anyone should avoid REM Studios.
Preparations for IMTA
1). A part of their deal was to prepare the students for IMTA. They FAIL at preparing us. Participants where separated into disorganized groups. Every meeting we had a different teacher. Every meeting we just sat around and did nothing! We just sat there and listen, IMTA is a great opportunity! Lots of actors got discover that way! They didn't take interest in their participants, at all.
2). I pay additional $1,000 for the photos. The photos have been wrongly taken! In my headshot I have a thick bandana in my hair, which the photographer assistant putted on me. Later I found out is not allowed in the headshot! Mr. Robert Owczarek should have informed the photographer long time ago about this and the photographer should have retaken my photos, but he never did!
3). More than a month before the big flight to IMTA, I have asked (multiple times!) Robert Owczarek a.k.a. Latte if everything is done and ready. He just shoo me out of his office saying that everything is great when it wasn't. I have entered the music competition and had to prepare a CD. The day before the flight he calls me saying that he doesn't have my CD! And that I supposed to have 2 songs on it! Robert Owczarek has lost my CD and he never informed me about 2 songs. I have paid extra $200 for the recording sessions and extra for the singing competition only to find out that he NEVER entered me into the competition. I was NOT the only one who has paid extra for that competition and didn't get entered.
At New York City, IMTA
1). We have been placed four people into two people rooms at Sheraton Hotel. I have been sharing my bed with a girl that was a total stranger to me!
2). Robert Latte has stated on our first meeting loud and clearly that no one who's under 18 years of age is able to leave the hotel without a parent or a guardian. He said if anyone is needed to go to the other hotel for a competition and no one is there to take us then we need to inform him or Jhonallee. Well guess what? I had to perform my monologue and it was later in the afternoon and I needed to be there in 20min. So I went to Johnalee's room, knock on the door and told him that. Instead of hearing, Okay, I will get ready to walk you there so wait here I head, Okay, that's fine and get slam of the doors in my face. I was shock. I went alone to the competition. Thankfully I came back with one of the contestant's mother when it was around 9:00p.m.
3). Robert Owczarek took $350 for looking after me since I was underage. He did nothing whatsoever to look after me! I have been starving for a whole first day until I found a deli not far away form the hotel. On fifth day, when all participants of IMTA had a big lunch, I have fallen ill and I needed to get back to my hotel room. The lunch was at the Hilton Hotel, which was across the street from Sheraton Hotel, so went to Robert and Johnalee to tell them that I don't feel good and that I feel dizzy. They just told me- shoo me off- to go back to my hotel room. That was the longest 5 min distance I have walked. I felt that I'm going to faint any second as everything was blurry. I heard somebody whistling at me, and call to me if I was okay. I have with fear I have rushed into the hotel and take a seat at the first seat I have found feeling a little bit safer. The hotel security escorted me to the room.
4). Another promise that Mr. Latte didn't keep is that he promised all parents that he will be doing a curfew check into every room, and that each participant being not in room after 10:00p.m. would be send home immediately. Thru the whole week we have been there he has not check my room or anyone else's room as far as know. Some girls where escaping from the hotel during night. At least I had an empty bed for myself until like four o'clock in the morning.
Going Back Home
Let's start from that Robert Owczarek has left a day earlier and left the whole group under Johnalee and Renata.
I have been not properly informed about our plane arrival. The only thing I was informed was of what time to be in front of the hotel. When I got there the group was disorganized and panicking. Apparently we are going to be late for our plane. We have been packed into two minibuses and rushed to the airport. The minibus that I have been on had collided with a taxi. It wasn't a major accident - just a dent in the rear side of the car- but the taxi driver didn't let us go. He wanted the police to arrive. Neither of our guardians, Johnalee or Renata, where with us on the minibus.
Finally we came to the airport and noticed that our guardians weren't with us at all. The airport staff was moving us back and forth of the airport, as we didn't know where to go. We didn't have tickets with us. We where suppose to receive them on the airport. I and couple of girls gave up on running and stood in desperation in one spot. A kind lady from airport staff came up to us and asked us about this commotion. After we told her our story she noticed the straps on our luggage from our last flight. With that she went to a machine nearby and helped us to print out our tickets. She has directed us where to go to get to our flight.
When I was on my plane I was scared that I might have entered the wrong plane, but then I saw more people form the group enter the plane so I sight with relief that I'm not alone. Then a girl from our group comes crying into the plane. We ask her what's wrong, and she told us that her underage sister has to stay behind for the next plane to Chicago.
Afterwards
I found this website not long ago and thought of letting the truth to be know. I know that this all happen in 2007 and now we have 2009, but myself image was so destroyed by that experience that I didn't want to talk about it. I was still hoping that by any chance they will promote me to the some manager as they have promised. REM Studios works only with the best agencies in the world. REM Studios will promote you in the market, so you can find the best agency or manager. (http://www.remstudios.net) My hopes and dreams where raised high and then smashed into billion of pieces. They have just suck the money out of me and waste my time that I will regret to the rest of my life.
A word to the parents:
If you want your child to lock themselves inside emotionally, be lost and confuse, and be haunted by regrets then I promote REM Studios. They will not take care of your child as a potential actor or a model. They will see your child as a money bank for their pockets.
If you really want your child to become a star interest them in High School clubs and activities, get them involve in community, and sign them up into a real acting school. Don't trust in scams like REM Studios. Trust me on that.
