I ordered a prom dress from this place back in February 2006. The cost was $550 and the girl I e-mailed, Bella, assured me she could have the dress done by mid April, because the event was occuring the last weekend of April. I left her with my information, and she took the $550 and supposedly starting working on the dress.

Fast-forward to April, I e-mail asking if everything is going okay, and Bella says that she is finishing up the dress and is going to ship it out the end of the week. I wait and wait and I get a little irked by the time it's a few days before the event and the dress still hadn't arrived. Bella assured me she shipped it out, and she even gave me a tracking number. I check this number, and it says that the package was not sent out yet.

The event comes, and no prom dress. I wear the one I wore the previous year. I e-mail her, and she e-mails back with her apologies and an offer of refunding a portion of the money.

Now this is where things start getting weird. May passes, June passes. NO dress. Several e-mails were sent to her asking about the dress, and only one or two were replied so. I used to get e-mails back from her everyday, and now she is barely keeping contact.

Finally an e-mail was sent to her that was not friendly, stating that if the dress does not come to us, we (boyfriend and I) would post her business on any message board we could find for bad businesses. She e-mailed back quickly and said that she must have forgot to ship it out, and that she wanted a confirmation on my new address and that it would be out that week. That was back in July.

Now it is October, and still, no dress. She also never once again mentioned a refund, even though she repeatedly asked her about the one she offered many a month ago.

I was blatently ripped off, and it is not appreciated. No idea how to go about this, but $550 is a lot! All of the e-mails back and forth to Bella are saved.

My name is Amber from Renaissance Dress. I was absolutely stunned to read Danielle's complaint and eagerly hope to resolve this.

I admit there were problems with her order and take full responsibility for them. We were growing considerably during that timeframe, and unfortunately our organizational skills suffered for a while as we adjusted. She was gracious enough to still want the order, but subsequently moved from Alaska to Florida which led to a bit of confusion as to where and when to ship the gown. It fell through the cracks until she contacted me again, which is the last e-mail exchange indicated in her complaint, and at that point I shipped her gown. I never heard from her again and naturally assumed the gown had been received, as we have never received it back as a return or as undeliverable.

We've been in business for almost 10 years, and while we haven't always been perfect we certainly wouldn't abandon a customer like this intentionally. I only wish this had been brought to my attention directly so I could address it at the time. I honestly had no idea and feel terrible for Danielle, and look forward to hearing from her. We would be more than happy to replace the gown, which given the opportunity we would have done at the time.

I look forward to resolving this!
