I am writing this because I don't know what else to do.

I made the huge mistake of renting from Regency Square Aparents back in 2010.  When I walked into the apartment to move in the place was trashed.  I had movers with me who were charging by the hour, I was starting my new job in two days and had no other choice but to move in.

When I say it was trashed, I mean I walked in and everything was covered in dirt, the front door wouldn't stay closed unless I locked the deadbolt, there was a porn magazine on the floor of the living room, wads of duck tape on the floor in the living room, all the inside doors had the door knobs either missing or falling off, broken pieces of pipe in the bathroom, stained carpets, and something all over the kitchen floor, counters, dishwasher, and refrigerator.

When I went to the office to complain the guy was very nice and told me he was sending a maintance guy.  When the maintance guy finally got there he took the pieces of broken pipe and told me he would be back to fix the front door and the other doors.  They did fix the door knobs several days later, but not the front door.

The parking spot I had was unusable because the covering was coming down.

As I lived there the office staff kept changing and each time I would tell them about the dishwasher that never worked, the front door, parking spot or anything else they would say I never told them about it and say they would have someone come and fix it.

Most of the time no one came to fix it and the few times they did come to fix something they wouldn't fix it right and it would just break again.  For example, my ac broke.  I called the office and they told me since it was only 91 degrees it wasn't an emergency and it would have to wait until the next day.  The guy finally came the next day and he "fixed" it so it worked, but it was so loud it sounded as if a jet was landing in my living room and the whole room shook when it came on.

My parents came and visited and the first thing my dad said to me was "I don't understand. Why do you live here? Why do you live in the ghetto?"  Later he also said I lived in a hovel and told me I should have listened to him and becaue an accountant so I wouldn't have to live in a shack.

Anyways my step mom, after seeing my apartment loaned me money to move.  When I went to the office and told them I was moving when my lease was up and asked what the check out procedures were I was told that I had to fill out a form letting them know I was planning on moving and that was it.

I filled out the form and turned it in and again asked if there was anything else I needed to do.  They told me that when I turned in my keys I would have to do a walk through with them.I asked if I needed to make an apointment.  They said no and that when I was ready for them to go down to the apt and turn my keys in and have them escort them through the apt.

Moving day came and when I went there first thing in the morning to turn in my keys and do my walk through the one lady very rudely said she was busy and that I wasn't on her schedule.  She said I was supposed to make an apointment with her and that she didn't have time that day. She told me to just turn in my keys.  I asked her when I would be getting my security depoist back and she said she would go through my apt and if I was going to recieve any of my security deposit back she would mail it to me.

A couple months later I got a rather nasty email saying I owed them money for cleaning.  I emailed them back and told them that I hired someone to clean for me and that it was cleaner than I got it and I wanted my security deposit back.

I got an email back saying I never payed a security depoist, my check in sheet wasn't there in my file and she asked me if I had any proof that I paid someone to clean for me.

I replied back with a letter from the lady that cleaned for me and she said she would review my file.  I didn't hear anything for several months.  I figured they were going to just keep my security deposit and call it even.  I wasn't very happy with this but didn't have the time or energy to deal with them and was just happy to be done with them.

Then this week I got a nasty email saying that since I didn't pay them I owed more money and they will be taking legal action against me if I didn't pay by June 6.  I replied back and told them that I thought it was settled.  I got no response so a couple days later I called.  I got no answer or call back.

Thank you,
