February 3rd store manager Al contact me and says he needs a payment by 5pm that day (saturday) I tell Al I don't get paid until Thursday. Al stated he need a payment today I said Al you can come and get the stuff it isn't that serious, he then say I will take a check I said I thought you don't take check he said he would take one from me. I have my daughter take Al the check for $275.00 on the 9th I get a notice from the bank stating there is not enough fund to cover the check. I contact Rent-A-Center and tell her what I found out and that I am sending my daughter to the store with my credit card to make that payment and don't send that check through on the 12th of February my daughter gives Renee Assistant manager at the store $350.00 $275.00 the payment and a little extra to be placed on account.(Manager stated that payed me up to the 24th of February) On the 17 I came into the store and made a two week payment (that pays me up to the 9th of March) on the way out of the store I see a JVC stereo system that I liked I ask the Assistant manager Renee how much is that 90days same as cash. Renee states that the stereo is 638.877 I said I want it and I am going to the bank and ge 410.00 and give you on the stereo system. On the 9th I come in and make my two week payment and I am told I have 151.00 in suspension that I use towards the payment at that time the new store manager asked the assistant manaager what happen to the $275.00 she said she didn't know. They asked if I would call them monday and they will tell me what happen to the $275.00 and get back to me. I call and the manager states that money was used to pay a return check I said I paid that with my credit card on the 12th. The regional manager stated that is how it is done since they did not know the check was retruned they had to get the check back before they could post the the check. Again I said I paid that on Feb 12th. What happen to my 410.00 that I put in suspense account for the Stereo system. They all keep saying that is to pay for the return check and I keep telling them I payed that on the 12th of February. And what would have happened if I had not given them that money for the stereo how would they have payed that 275.00 he said I would have had a return check I had to pay..

Excatly how much did you spend in a month?

From what I could gather from your very confusing post, you spent around $ 1,035.00 to rent-a-center in less than a month.

For that amount of money, you could have purchased the sterio outright at a store for alot less than the $638.00 that they were selling it for.

I suggest you save your Washingtons and Lincolns and Jacksons under your mattress and buy the stuff you need in full, not rent.

Your creating hassles for your self and a debt load that eventually you will not be able to afford.

You should have gotten receipts from them showing the payments and the dates the payments covered and what items they covered. Your daughter should also have taken the check back from them the day she made the payment with your credit card.

So, now your short money and stuck paying interest on a credit card that you will not pay off in the next 50 years at the current interest rates that most credit cards charge and at the minimum payment rates.

Not only does rent-a-center charge for items up to 50% more (depending on the item) than what they are worth at a store by the time that you pay all the installments, you put it on a credit card??
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE??

I have a feeling that you have no economic senses and would benefit from a few courses at your local community college in home ecomomics and math refreshers.
