Rent-A-Center Cant get there you know what straight Homestead Florida
Lets see, I started with rent-a-center and was sucked into there fake bull. This store in particular has had 3 or 4 managers within the last year in a half. I am on disability and was advised that I could make my payments monthly if I brought in my letter stating when I recieve my check, which I did.
Well, I went there needing a stero/BoomBox and within the first 2 weeks it was broken, they gave me a lender which was worse off than the one sent "off for repair" I recieved my RAC Stero that had a mp3 players that came with it, well it was fine and dandy until the manager "Mr. Herby" I found was taking my money that was for payment and sticking in his pocket, I didnt realize that until I was sucked back into buying a laptop. When I made my 3rd payment they asked me for more than usual...oh I forgot to mention Nelson was the Replacement manager and was worthless..young spanish man who thought his you know what didnt stink, he talked to you like you were a homeless person on the street, anyway he advised me that I didnt pay my RCA stero off and that He needed proof that I did.
Well, first of all I thought it was safe to pay cash but, DO NOT USE CASH WITH RENT-A-CENTER. Use a credit or debit card for double proof. Well, they didnt fire the nasty man just relocated to another store in the area..anyways my laptop was supposly "right out of the box", as laneatha stated another employee. At that time I needed the laptop for school and when I went to use it there were applications that someone installed which meant it was not "right out of the box".
Today the 16 of Oct, I get home from the hospital from a severe back injury and I opened my door to my room and my bedset was gone and my room was TRASHED. I called the new manager "AL" and he stated that was not there problem. I had a memorial set on my dresser from my great-grandmothers passing and its all over the rose from her funeral that was professionally dried was stepped on, I cant bend over to check my room as we speak I am stuck at my computer not even in a pc chair.
I called the idiots at the rent-a-center I used and the manager "AL" said "the person who opened the door, was supposed to empty out the bed set" . Well, that was my brother in law who came to visit us and we were not home...they knocked and demanded to know where the "black bedroom set was" my brother in law knows that I rent from this company and didnt know anything until the A hole was throwing my stuff on the floor, including my memorial I have set-up for my great grandmother...all of the bears I collect handmade and most custom made at that.
I want to take care of this myself. I have to go into town to have some blood taken and if I go in that store I will walk out in hand-cuffs. Im not of sound mind and thoughts are racing through my head. I cant believe that this happened to me. This guy "AL" is the guy they send to the stores when the store is an F up, and hes making it worse. I wish I knew what my legal rights were on this issue.

I'm sorry that there are employee of the company out there that don't care about their stores. I take it personally every time i here their stories. There are good stores out there. I wish the employee who are at least going to express there opinion could do it respectively.

First of all whoever wrote the last statement and calls themself of an Co. you would not call or make fun of someone with a mental disorder....you just showed rent-a-centers true self. So calling me whatever you want is not going to affect me, but It is more for me to have to give to my lawyer. So Keep up the good work EMPLOYEE of Rent-A-Center. Do not get mad at me because your Co. cannot find people to run there stores. My mother just reminded about the same stuff she went through with rent way before a "Better" Co, bought them out, and you can let them know word of mouth in a small town like homestead goes a long long way..not only that but your comments will be printed and faxed to your "Coroprate" office. So, keep on employees at rent-a-center your just building a better case for me. Have a blessed day.

I am sorry that you love your sorry job so much at rent-a-center, and you feel you must defend them to the fullest, but I have all of my receipts and bank statements. I have to tell you im through with you all and thats not a good thing..and oh calling the "customer service" doesnt do a thing.. promise this and that full of it...been down that road twice....its not even worth my breath, my mind has moved on to better things than a sorry place that wants to call themself a Co. When you go through 3 managers at one store..tell me something else..get a life besides rent-a-center

You CAN pay cash, just make sure you get a receipt like with any other business you idiot!!! As for them trashing your stuff that's a bunch of B*ll Sh*t!!! Call another store and they will give you our corporate office number. The District Manager will call you back within hours guaranteed.
If they screwed you over for that I am sorry. But if you got screwed over and were too dumb to request a receipt then both you and your "not in my right mind a**" are just too dumb to breathe.

so the situation sucks. the best thing to do is call another store, same state differect city. don't tell them your story they can't help but they can give you the 1-800 number. call corporate and complian, make it angry like i'm sure you are and they will have the manager's boss call you. hope it works out
