If you plan to listen to the lies in the interview they give you at Rent a Center. Be warned. After just short of 1 and 1/2 years of pure hell I have gotten another job. The raises where a lie. The promotions process is a lie and the list goes on and on.

I have operated businesses for over 30 years. Never have I seen so much verbal abuse threats and intimidation put on employees like this company does. From management right up through their district managers. Whom all I met where well above arrogant and narcissistic.

These guys are of average IQ on a serious power trip. Little education outside their job. This gives them the false feeling of knowing they are never wrong. When in almost every instance these people spin it their way.

All I can tell you is, they will discriminate. they try and use tactics like bringing people above you, who are no where near qualified to be over you. Give you meaningless jobs all in effort to get you to quit if you are not in their click. I was not in. I did not go drinking and hanging out after work so I guess this made me the bad guy.

I will tell you, even their mastery of constructed termination they play with you did not work with me. They bring you in, make false misleading accusations then have the balls to ask you to sign....I will not sign something I did not do, or was not responsible for. But man they will try.

These people operate like a gang of thugs and if their intimidation does not sway you. They run you out. For a year. I did living rooms, double door refrigerators, bed rooms, 60' tvs as many as 3 flights of stairs all by myself.  Oh you can't do the job?...to old are ya? a total verbal attack if you do not find a way to get it done. These are 2 man jobs. I did many alone my first year. A few after but many the first.

So my last day I am with a 24 year old male on the truck and it is raining. We pull up outside the apartment and he says he is going to run up and make sure they are home. This is after him telling me he did not want to do it today. I replied look we are here. Let us just get it done. He said OK and went up to the clients. He comes down says they are home so I got out went upstairs to look over the situation and start bringing stuff down.

As soon as I walk in the woman goes off on me. I ain't rescheduling this I wont be home tomorrow. I cooled her down and said why would you think that. She said the 1st young man up here wanted to do this Saturday. I said no mam we will get her done today. I grabbed cushions and walked down the stairs. When I got to the door my partner was on the phone with my boss telling her I did not...ME...want to do this today the stairs are too steep and the old man cant do it. What a crock of crape.

I feel this was previously planned. When we got back it was not 30 min and I was terminated. No reason just done. This is the way they treat someone who was on time #1 in the store. Missed less days than anyone else. Out worked everyone else. But wont go drinking and hanging out with the team. To bad. My family is my team. All in life goes full circle. No one there is bright enough to figure this out.
