Rent-A-Center Pushing political beliefs on employees ripoff Burleson Texas
Sure, RAC is a company that preys on certain demographics. A lot of companies do that, Im not writing to complain about the way they do business. People will eventually figure that part out. My Regional Director, David Eubanks, would send emails requiring all employees to call their local state representative and read a script backing certain bills that were going to the house for a vote. My direct supervisor would call and verify that we did this.
I felt I was subject to disciplinary action if I did not perform this task and so did my employees. Is this not wrong? Would that be considered illegal? I have copies of the emails.
How can we get RAC to stop this practice?

Contact the Human Rescorces dept at home office and ask to forward the e-mail to her for review. I'm not sure if this is illegal but it is unethical and aginst company policy

yes, it is illegal. But very hard to prove.
And what would you gain by pushing the issue?
I would look for another job.
