rent a wreck bobby RENT-A-WRECK covina, California
went and bought a used car from here. the car had some small issues i figured it needed a tune up. it had small body damage in the front. we went for a test drive and it drove really nice. it ran a little ruff in the parked possition. i asked the seller if it needed a tune up. he said yes it needs plugs and an air filter. i asked when was it last smogged he said this year in july its still in the system. there was no check engine light nor any other warning so i decided to go forward with the purchase.
ok so here comes the ugly part. i buy the car and i clean it up over the weekend. i put new plugs airfilter and washed it to my likeing. after putting the new parts in it still run ruff. so i decided to take it to my machanic on monday. (i bought the car on thursday the previous week) my mechanic cant seem to understand why its running ruff with no check engine light so he hooks it up to the scanner.
the scanner read 9 check engine codes!!!! my heart dropped! the guys at rent a wreck pulled out the light bulb from the dashboard so they could sell the car. after i finished with the mechanic i went to aaa to register the car. THERE WAS NO SMOG CHECK IN THE SYSTEM! they lied to me and the covered up the problems the car had.
i called bobby and explained to him that i was upset and i wasnt going to get ripped off. i would report him to the DISTRICT ATTORNEY, THE BBB, CONSUMER AFFAIRS, RIPOFF REPORT, LYNK SYSTEMS and a veriaty of other sites if he did not refund my money. i told him if he had been honest and said that there was not a smog and the car had check engine problems i would have had my mechanic look it over then made a desition to purchase or not. BOBBY is a lier! he then proceeded to say he'll contact his legal department "as if he has a legal department". and get back to me.
lesson learned do not buy or rent from these guys they will ripp your off!!!!

False accusations by the author

We deny all these false accusations by the author. The buyer came to buy this car, test drove, inspected and evaluated the vehicle. He then negotiated a very low price to buy the vehicle. After agreeing to the deal he was made aware through a signed a statement by him that he was purchasing the vehicle AS-IS.
He further acknowledged, in writing, that he knew that the vehicle was used and not in good working condition and may not be road worthy. He was aware he was buying the vehicle WITH ALL FAULTS and it was his responsibility to MAKING THE VEHICLE ROAD WORTHY. He further stated that he would seek no credit or refund of monies.
I suggest the buyer to stop this complain as it is not true and stop making these falls accusations about me and Rent A Wreck. Otherwise we will take legal action and seek compensation for defamation, loss of profit, damages, emotional stress, attorney fees and any other compensation we may be due.
