Simply put I never received the $100 reward card promised by rent.com when i moved. I used there service to fidn apartment, reported my lease in time and did everything correctly, and they were supposed to send a $100 visa reward card.  They said they snet it. It never arrived.

I have emails saying they sent it. One said they sent it December 6th, 2013.  Then a week later i complained and they said they sent it December 12th, 2013.  Today is January 10th, 2014 and still no card.  I have not had a problem getting any other mail, including bills, tax forms, and all other general mail, thus eliminating this being a mail processing issue.  

I was told through email that my card was sent from Atlanta, GA on December 12th. I live in North Carolina. Rent.com informs customers that it will take up to 10 business days to receive the reward. Then on the phone they say 10-12 business days, and maybe 14 days if you include the weekends. However, nothing has ever arrived.  Through email, their customer service is like automated robot responses.  In one email i sent, I asked why my card had not arrived when they said it was sent December 12th.  The response said this..."your card was mailed December 12th. Please allow 10-12 business days for it to arrive." They repeated my question as the actual answer.

On January 5th, 2014 i called for the first time and they said they could RESEND a card.  I asked if they could send it through faster mail or something considering the circumstances, they said no. I asked if i somehow received the first card sooner, could i use it and cancel the other?they said no. So i got another email saying my card was resent January 7th, 2014.  Today is January 11th and I am not waititng to complain about this.  The card may come in 2 weeks, but i doubt it.  They are robots and the customer service agents are morons. They know its not coming. They know you dwant it and need it, but they dont care. I advise anyone to avoid using rent.com if you think it will get you a free $100.  This is not the case, and reviews all over the internet will tell you the same thing.  Their response is always "Rent.com has sent out over a million reward cards blah blah blah".  They may send them, but perhaps they are sending them to their own address.  Its clearly not a reliable service.  Yes you can look at apartments on their site, but there are 100 other sites that will let you do the same without a false promise.

If by some godly miracle my card comes, i will NOT remove this complaint. I will edit it and say when i received it and how long it actually took. But this is not just about not getting it, its about them abusing everyones idea of snail mail.  10 business days is not unreasonable. But after 10days goes by, they know people will wait another few days maybe even a week because mail can sometimes take a while to get there.  But im sorry, no mail takes 27 days to get to its destination through snail mail.
