I first went to rent a center to get a computer for my children to use to supplement thier education. I knew that I would pay more but I was desperate I did not have the money to purchase a computer . I went in filled out the peaperwork. I asked if the computer was new the manager stated that they were all new. I chose one and went hoome .

The computer was delivered and set iup. I made my payments. sometimes late but I did pay. I worked two jobs at the time and I tried to make it in I explained this to the managers. They stated that they understood.

I moved out of that apartment and set up the computer at my new apartment. during the set up I noticed a tag on the back stating the computer was used. I called and they stated that the computer was in fact used. If I wanted to trade for a new one it would cost more. I did not have anymore free money for the higher payment so I kept the computer. I put the computer in for service three times ove a year. each time it came back something else was wrong.

I decided that I would not make another payment until the computer was fixed. after one and a half weeks of no payment they came and repoed my computer. I stated to the that it was not working.

I asked for it to be fixed. I went into the store to speak with the manager Alex that I could not get on the phone because he was always gone or just stepped out.I finally ran into him and he was discourteous and rude. I went into the office and he stated that he could not rerent to me because of the non-payment.

I stated that I understood but the computer is not working and I want it fixed before I get it back. I made my payment and stated that I would be back to pay both items off. Alex# 1 told me that I had 30 days to pay it off and items would be delivered to me. Items included the computer ,printer and tv. I returned on dec. 18 three weeks later to pay the late pay and pay offf the computer and my T.V. also used.

I was told that the items had been re-rented. I was furious. I stated to Alex #1 that that was not a good business practice to lie to the customers and ripp pepple off. One of the employees a young african american male whom delivers the items stated that it was in my best interrest to work with them.

I asked him if he was threatning me because he should want to work with the community that pays his salary. Another employee Alex # 2 told him to go in the back. The nerve. I heard from others that this is what rent a center does . They wait until you have your payments way down and then they re-rent the items knowing that circumstances may change when you are renting to the poor. They know that there are sure to be late payments in this economic area. they set up in areas knowing the socioeconomic dynamics of the population.

Another employee named Steve stated that he will be " getting a computer as soon as one of these stupid people dont make thier payment and he buys it out". WOW was all I could think . I wonder if he has my computer in his home? It is not right to fix it just in time to re-rent it when I only had one payment to make. How did they justify the thirty days grace? It was not up as of yet and I began to look at the computers and noticed my printer and my T.V on the shelf. I also noticed the ink cartridges I purchased from Office Max for about $60.
I brought this to thier attention. They asked me how did I know those items were mine and I told them I know it I've had them in my home for some time now. They checked the serial numbers and I was proved right .

I paid off my T.V and asked when would I be getting my computer. they told me that they would have to find another one compatible to the one I had. The t.V was delivered the next day. I paid it off. I still had the 129.00 on account for my computer they re-rented without telling me. I called several times went down there also and I was told that I had to speak to another Alex to get a computer. Finally two weeks ago I chose another computer. I was told it would be a little more money.

I asked why since my computer was almost paid off. I was told by the manager that He could not give me the same price. I felt as if they knew I would not walk away from 2000+ in merchandice so I would have to pay. I knew I had to go for the extra 200 which made a 200 bill now almost 500.

I was angry but I was behind in my work. I could not do research for work and my children had to find a computer to use it was a lot of running around and inconvenience trying to do homework. I waited for the delivery of the computer and two days late it came ...with no printer... I immediately called because on the other computer I had a printer. I was told that would be more. Will I ever deal with this unethical company again no. Furthe I stated what Alex #2 told me that the computer would be the same comperably as before the same set up. I explained that the last bill included the printer which I don't have.

also there was no ethernet hook up for my online service like I had before .There were no speakers like I had before. I was told someone else put in the ethernet, and I could attach speakers. Obviously this was not a comparable or compatible deal at all.
I decided to purchase the ethernet speakers and printer from Office Max. 140.00 on my credit card now I still have to pay the computer off and inquire about the cost of the printer that I do not have anymore I am sure there is a story for that.

I would like those funds back or put toward the payments on the computer. NEVER EVER AGAIN ! I will find out later today.
