I live in Chico and am relocating with a new job to Fresno, CA. I contacted Linda Teliha (Vice President/ leasing agent/ property manager and co-owner of Rental Management Company with her husband Jeff Teliha) about a house for rent at 5707 N. McCaffrey, Fresno, CA. I over-nighted the $50 application fee with both my son's and my applications.

I spoke with Linda on the phone on Friday,1/14/11, to confirm an appointment at her office between 11am and 12pm on Monday 1/17/11. Linda stated she had to meet my son and I in person, in order to rent the house to us, so we made the 5 hour drive (10 hour round-trip) to meet with Linda and also to see the property we were going to rent. The day happened to be Martin Luther King (MLK) Day.

Linda was a no-show at her office on Monday the 17th. I left her a message stating that we were there waiting for her. We waited one hour for her - she did not show, and we went to drive by the residence ourselves. We could not see the inside, but the outside looked nice. We proceeded to make the five hour return drive back to Chico. The following day I called Linda and she was quite rude on the phone.

She stated, "We did not have a confirmed appointment and that sometimes they are open on MLK Day and sometimes they are not. She chose not to go into the office and meet with me that day nor did she have the common courtesy to even call me and return my call. She also said, "I have already shown the house to someone else this morning and whoever comes up with the deposit first gets the house." Of course, the other person is in Fresno and is going to get the house because they are local and I would have had to over-night the deposit fee from Chico.

Linda said she would give me a call later in the day and update me on the status of the rental house and never returned my calls. I tried calling her back twice and left messages stating I would take another house at 5512 W. Magill Avenue if it were still available. I have never heard from her since and feel I was scammed by her company - Rental Management Company.

I want to alert anyone looking for a home, condo or apartment to not use this property management business. Use a reputable business, but certainly do not use Rental Management Company.

I got ripped off!

I was looking for a house to rent in June and Linda was one of the many property managers I was "working" with. You are absolutely right, she was very rude and had so sense of customer service. She wouldn't even talk with me about the properties, she'd just give me the addresses and tell me to go drive over and walk around the outside and if I was still interested, I could pay the $50 application fee and see the inside.

The first property I went to looked great on the outside... except the window 2 ft off the ground right next to the front door was left open and anyone could go in and out of the house. They backyard was a mess. I tried calling her, to at elast let her know they left the window open, but she snapped at me andw as rude again. Their company is an absolute waste of time!  I hope you were able to find a better home, with a much more professional management group. I did!
