Ordered a car from RentalCars.com for a family holiday in Spain, Ordered early as suggested by them to avoid 'price rises'.  No problem in procedure until the balance was asked for just before holiday. 

Noticed the car NOW offered was significantly smaller than originally ordered.  After 1 hour on the phone I discovered their car supplier in Spain had changed and the new supplier didn't categorise the cars along the same lines. 

Their response was 'Tough' pay more or cancel and we keep the deposit !!!  Never had this problem with any other car rental company. It seems as though you pay the money at deposit stage and they give you any size of car that suits them.  

Very frustrating as the benefit of an early price has now evaporated. Now booked through British Airways.
