I pre-paid for a rental car using rentalcars.com for my honeymoon.  We showed up to the car rental station on time and provided the agent with all the necessary cards and documents.  However, the agent was having difficulty establishing a signal with her credit card machine and could not add a deposit to the car.  We spent 3 hours in this airport trying to problem-solve the situation, including e-mailing rentalcars.com because nowhere on their site is a phone number provided.  At the suggestion of the rental agent, they encouraged us to try getting a car from a company whose credit card machine was functioning properly and rectify the situation with rentalcars.com later.  So, that is exactly what we did.  It's been 6 weeks and rentalcars.com adamantly refuses to refund our money because they stated we should have called them (even though they don't provide a phone number).  We paid our money upfront, showed up to the correct location on the correct day and it was the company who failed to fulfill their end of the contract.  This is blatant fraud.
