Repair Pros Replaced my phone screen and sold me a battery before informing me the phone was probably no good Tulsa Oklahoma
I dropped my phone and the screen was black. The phone still rang and I heard message notifications so I know it worked. The only thing wrong with it was the black screen. I took it to them and they told me that it just needed a new screen and it would cost $100.
I figured $100 was cheaper than a new phone and I could always use it for a backup phone or camera so I authorized the screen replacement. When I went to pick it up he told me that because of water damage the power button wasn't working so I would need to keep it charged up unless I wanted to spend more to have that fixed too.
I didn't, so I took it home and kept it charged up but it kept shutting down. I took it back and he tells me it needs a new battery so I bought a new battery for $50. Now I've spent $160. I took the phone home and it starts rebooting non stop. I took it back and he told me that it needs to be factory reset. I had that done and it worked for a few hours but then it failed to boot up.
I took it to another repair shop and they said it was ruined. I took it to a Samsung expert and told him the whole story and he said that the repair tech ruined it. I took it back to the same tech and told him I bought a screen and battery I didn't need. He could take the screen and battery back and refund my $160.
He refused and told me that he informed me about the water damage up front and that I assumed that risk which is a lie. I never would have authorized the screen replacement if I had known that there was damage to the motherboard. I could have (and ultimately did) bought a new phone for $100 more. These people are either incompetent, dishonest, or both.
