I had a cell phone with a broken screen. So I searched the internet for solutions. A new phone, upgrade options, used phones. Then I found this company from a video they have posted on youtube. The video showed the entire procedure of taking apart my cell phone and how to replace a broken screen.


The company's video had a link to it's website where it offers replacement parts for various cell-phone related components. I decided to purchase the part, which seemed reasonably priced at about $45 after shipping. I recieved my new part on time, and I eagerly returned to the video which guided me through the whole process step by step.


However, after reassembly, I turned on my phone only to find that my "new" part was broken. Broken parts for my already broken phone. So I'm out $45 and the company will send me a new one if I pay to send the part they sent me back to them and to pay for them to send it back to me. Wow. Really?

I sent them a picture of the wrong part they sent to me.  I still had to pay to send it back.  They're only willing to refund the cost of the part to me and that's because PayPal is making them.  They're trying to get out of paying for any of the cost for their mistake.

Here is a portion of Repair universe's "terms and conditions page" taken directly from their website, and contradicts the Owner of the Company's prior remark.

Return Cost and Insurance
The cost of shipping and insuring a return in the full responsibility
of the customer. The shipping and handling cost associated with a
return for a replacement are shared. RepairsUniverse will pay for
shipping and handling cost of sending a replacement and the customer
will pay for return shipping and handling.
We cannot offer everyday low
prices and absorb the full cost of handling return shipments.


I, the customer had to pay to return defective parts, and again when the replacement parts sent back to me were also defective.

This report contains several false statements which I would like to address. Firstly we never send broken parts. All parts are quality checked and are new.

In the rare case of a part being DOA (dead on arrival) we ask the customer to return so we can check and test the part. Once the part is confirmed as being bad we cover the customers shipping costs for the return and ship a replacement at no cost to the customer. We never have asked a customer to pay shipping costs and never will.

In the rare case that a customer ever has an issue we do our best to resolve as quickly as possible.
