Complaint Review: Reportage Armani

So I'm come out of the bank after transferring some funds. I get in my car and start the engine when an Italian man parks up next to me in his white Dodge Charger and asks me for my help. At first I had no idea what this guy was saying, so I tell him to repeat himself. He goes on asking me if I knew italian and how he only knew a little bit of english.

So he then reassured me that he wasn't trying to sell me anything and that he wants to give designer clothes away because he was flying back to Italy and couldn't afford the taxes. So being the cheap idiot, how was I going to pass up on free stuff? We both got out of our cars and he shows me three jackets, gives them to me and tells me that it is a gift between "amigos." I accepted it and he goes on to tell me about himself, saying he was Catholic and said something about his mother.

Then came the sob story about losing money on blackjack at the casinos and how a columbian model stole all his money and credit cards while he was sleeping. After that he brought out his passport and plane ticket and told me he had changed his flight date to the present day and he needed $300 dollars to cover the fees. He told me he would pay me back through western union when he got back to Italy.

Being Catholic myself, I felt sympathetic for the guy I agreed to help him, we exchanged phone numbers and emails. Then I got on the ATM, pulled out $300 and gave it to him. He hugs me and then drives off honking the horn praising me for my help.

Right after that, I went home and searched up these jacket brands and came across countless reports, which were the exact same stories. I tried to make a police report, but they said they couldn't do anything about it since there was an exchange between money and jackets. So next time I help out a stranger, I'm not going to be greedy and take any kind of gift from a stranger. Also next time I help out anyone, I'm going to leave my money out of it.
