My father was outside of his house shoveling snow when an older Italian man pulled up in a rented SUV. He claimed he was a designer for Giorgio Armani and said he was lost on his way to Newark Airport.

My father gave him directions and the man made a proposal to sell left over merchandise from a fashion show in N.Y.C. The man said he would be taxed if he tried to bring the clothing back to Italy so it was not worth keeping.

The man asked my father to make him an offer on two men's leather coats, a men's suede coat, a men's suit, and a woman's suede coat. The con artist even had catalogues of models sporting the faux Armani clothing along with fabricated prices. He said the entire line was worth over $10,000. It turns out the guy had a bill from the rental car company for $1400. He told my dad to give him the cash for the rental car and the clothes were his.

I knew my dad got scamed when he told me the story. I googled the name of the clothing line and found many of the same stories as this one. Lets work together and stop the fake Armani scam. My father works too hard to be taken by some punk like this guy.
