Same story as other Reportage RGA Armani (so called)guys.
Approached in Costco parking lot with the same story of the guy having finished an expo in San Jose. He says he has to fly out of SFO and will be taxed for the extra 3 leather jackets he has.

Said he spoke Italian & a little English. Seemed to understand Spanish (close enough). Very pushy. Settled on $39 for a nice suede jacket. But I backed out at the last minute. I knew he was a scam artist. He was disgusted with me and called me ugly names as I drove off. (I guess I wasted too much of his time).
Short, Balding, driving a white Infiniti SUV rental car. Looked sharp. A good bullshi**er. Watch out for this guy!

Same Reportage RGA Armani Guy

#2Consumer Comment

Thu, May 25, 2006

Two weeks later, and the same guy is doing the same thing in the same vehicle... only in a strip mall parking lot on Stevens Creek Blvd.

I was approached on my way to a restaurant... I actually parked my car out in the open in the parking lot of the mall, away from Panda Express, and as I looked for a parking spot, I was followed by this guy in his white Infiniti SUV rental.

I was immediately suspicious because of how blatantly he was trying to park next to me, and the fact that the car I was driving (not mine) happens to be valued at $200,000.

Immediately, I knew this was a scam: it had all the telltale signs. Still, I humored him for a good half hour... might as well waste some of his time I thought.

He told me how he didn't speak English, he spoke Italian, Spanish, and a little French. He showed me his Italian passport (saw a picture of what he'd probably claim to be his "son"), and even a stamp of him visiting here (I think it was stamped May 6). He made the same claims you mentioned, all very sleek and con man like... trying to play on greed... He said he was going to "give the suits away"... for $800. Yeah right. I offered him $5 for a suit. Then $20. Then I walked away. He called me back saying $300. "Yup, definite scam" I thought to myself. I kept walking away and he kept driving around the parking lot, looking for more people to scam.

I considered alerting the business owners or police, but wasn't certain if what he was doing was illegal.
