AVOID this cell company!  I should've been warned by their website - you can easily reach sales, but not support.  I bought a Moto-G 2nd Gen phone via the link from Repblic's website to use & after it was delivered was informed it was the 'wrong' one...they only use 1st Gen & 3rd Gen.  This wasn't mentioned anywhere on their site.  By the time I found out, it was too late to get a refund..

I bought the 'right' phone - a 3rd Gen directly from Republic about 9 mos later (OK, I'm an idiot) only to find they couldn't activate it as my AT&T wireless system was 'too advanced' & was incompatible.  This detail about 'some model phones may not work with some home wireless systems' was buried far down in the sales fine print.

It took me several days to wade through their website & figure out how to get a hold of a live agent, after trying repeatedly to activate my phone.  The 'support' person couldn't find my account even though I gave her the meid #, email address & sales code. That's when I discovered yet another nasty surprise

What I didn't realize til checking through their site for the acct to which the phone was listed was they'd been charging me for their 'service' @ 19.95/mos despite the fact I had NO phone # assigned to me (they used the cc used to buy the phone!) When I told their agent to shut off that service I was told she needed the phone # first.  When I said they'd never assigned me one I was told to take it up with my cc company. She also said she'd send me an email to 'confirm' I was really me, but never did.

So I'm stuck with 2 new phones.

Their website's a nightmare - just try to find anything but sales info - and not enough of that by a long shot.  Their FAQ page is incredibly bad - click on any link & you enter a never-ending loop of useless repetitive crap. The worst of this nonsense is reserved for 'support'.  Click the link to 'returns' and you get taken to a page full of other info with another link to 'support' which takes you back to your original page.  I had to literally surf through every link they had & read every line to find a phone number not listed anywhere one would expect.

IMHO Republic's a total rip-off.  They lure in customers with promises of cheap cell costs but abandon you the instant you sign. Plus they charge you on the sly for services not rendered.

Caveat emptor, folks...let the buyer beware!!!
