We found a charge of $9 on our American Express statement from Reservations Rewards, which billed us without our informed consent. We called the 888 number, and connected with an automated voice-response system that allowed us to cancel the subscription automatically. It asked for our credit card number, then spelled out our email address to confirm that it was correct (which indicates that Reservations Rewards received our credit card number and email address from some source). It then said we had been billed again another $9 (which we will see on our next American Express statement). We then called American Express, which agreed to block charges from Reservations Rewards, and it credited us with $9 (we have to call again next month to protest the next $9 charge). In our opinion, Reservations Rewards is underhanded and slimey in its business practices.
