One of the "toxic" loans given away by the FDIC was my home. Never late in 10 years until ill and unemployed.Luckily I was approved for Social Security in 2 months and called to work out a plan. They wanted the whole amount or nothing. Would not stop the sale, ugly, hostile, abusive. Finally got sale stopped along with $4000 of additional fees. Once I filed with HUD they dropped interest and worked with me.

All was fine for a year then they raised my escrow 3 times in 3 months until it was doubled. Nothing could fix it. Finally I just sent principal and they foreclosed again. Would not stop sale until I payed $2000 or more in fees and agreed to pay additional fees of $1500 later. They let you call, write letters and nothing changes. I have l filed with every agency but they claimed they did not regulate them. My mortgage is caught up, paid on time every month but because I refuse to pay any more fraudulent fees, they have threatened to accelerate several times in the last year. Also, they add more fees each month and report I am behind in payments and late.

I knew they had operated under several company names when I registered and looked up my note in MERS. It lists all the previous names and each employee has followed to each company. And each company has had multiple reports of fraud and illegal actions. I have continued to fight even though I was told they did not fall under big banks. Well, they do. All the wrongdoings in the news lately also refers to them. When someone mentions that the biggest criminal is the company the FDIC just threw our poor homes to, maybe something will be done.
My bank failed but the government failed me. And 3 years later, while I am very ill and also taking care of my daughter who had to leave college with her own inherited illness. And spending too much time trying to save my home.
