AC Compressor went out and was replaced. Residential Warranty Services (RWS) will not pay the claim. RWS was called and sent a repair person who did not keep appointments so we called and asked if we could get another contractor. We were told we could. New Contractor came out and said we needed a new Capacitor, RSW approved the repair. Capacitor was replaced but did not fix the problem. Contractor then told us we would need either a new Compressor or a new Unit. We contacted RWS and spoke to Rolando and were told they would cover only $1075 or we could get a check for $1075 and buy a new unit. We went ahead and had the Compressor replaced and filed our claim. RWS denied the claim stating that the original replacement of the Capacitor broke the Compressor. This is an incorrect statement as the Capacitor cannot damage the Compressor.

It has been discovered that our contractor did not file the correct report.  This error has been resolved and Resdiential Warranty Services is planning on paying our claim.
