This so called debt collections company has made it very hard to get my credit score up. They have, without even trying to locate me (I work and pay bills in my town and have a bank account), put a freeze on my credit score? I have left many messages on their bogus phone recorder and have not received a call back. I offer to talk to them about this debt, via my lawyer, and they have not called or even tried to contact me concerning this debt. It took me alot of time and money to locate this company, but if seems if I found them, they could have found me before freezing my score. Now I read on this site that they may be a scam. That great, how in the world am I going to get this off my credit? If they are a scam, how were they able to "freeze" my account? Will someone please explain this to me? I am trying to clean up my credit so I can buy a house and this is the only issue I can't clear up. Thanks, Jacqueline

The company, Resolution Management LLC, is a junk debt buyer. They CAN NOT freeze your credit score!

First, don't pay them a dime.

Second, look up how to handle junk debt buyers at the various credit sites like Bud Hibbs, Debtorboards, Credit info center...etc. You can turn this around on them and collect funds from Resolution Management if they have violated the FDCPA (and it sounds like they have). Keep a log of their phone calls to you. Don't talk to them. Research your options on these boards

Third, go to: annual credit report (dot) com (naturally without the spaces) to get your credit reports to see if they have placed a collection on your reports. Learn what is actually on your credit report.

If you want your credit scores, look up FICO scores only. You can only buy FICO scores from one spot (only TransUnion and Equifax, Experian no longer sells FICO scores). Those boards mentioned above will give you the web address for your FICO scores. NO OTHER SCORE COUNTS SO DON'T BUY IT.

If you are not able to get your FICO scores, it is not because Resolution Management put a freeze on your score. That is just plain BS. It could be because you have no open lines of credit and your other credit lines have aged off. Or it could be for another reason. Do some research and you can fix this. But under no circumstances should you pay anything to this collector - it will restart the debt.
