Complaint Review: Resort Equity Marketing

I am so glad that I found this site. Less than 1 hour ago I got a call from a Frank Preston at REM asking us to list out resort with their agency. He sounded very confident with all his claims of fast sell/rent and guarantees. Gave me list of all the trade shows that they attend in order to market my property and gave me some really nice sounding prices for the property. While on the phone with him I was looking the company up on the BBB. My God over 230 complaints. When I mentioned this to him he said that the BBB is unfair to companies that are not members (such as themselves) He claimed to be aware of all the complaints and suggested that most of the compliants were based on consumers mistaking the Airline Ticket offer for a full vacation offer that includes room and board.

Needless to say I told him that I would check them out and call back if I was interested. He began to list all the many agencies with which they have good standing. Seems he forgot to mention that there is an Attonery General investigation ongoing regarding the company's practices.

I am so glad I decided to do a little poking around before laying 785.00 on the line. I feel bad for all the folks that they deceived.
