Out of the blue at 4pm I got a call from a lady who said she buys timeshares and sells them to corporate America. And the last convention for these folks to buy or rent our timeshare for 2007 would be this weekend. Nothing like the last minute notice! Of course she'd call us back same night to give more details to both my husband and myself.

Her explanation: We pay her $685 upfront, no commission to her company (except from the buyer), and she sells or rents our property within 180 days. Our one bedroom time sharing was now going for $9,000 to $12,000. Sounds great!

Smart husband says, "please send us something in writing via snail or e-mail, and we'll have our legal counsel look it over, then we'll talk." She said the next convention would be Jan 19, 2008, so we could take advantage of the next sale. Gave her our e-mail address, but nothing 11 hours later.

Went to the website she gave, and it went straight to Pay Pal. There was nothing more on the website. That made me think of the RipOff site right away.

Thank goodness for a cautious husband!
