On 3 Jul 09, we received a call from REM inquiring about renting our timeshare in Las Vegas.  After paying using my credit card, REM sent out a packet that according to them we needed to sign before advertising and our info could be released to potential renters.  On 15 Jul, we received a call from REM inquiring about the status of the contract that we were required to sign.  On 16 Jul, we signed the contract and express mailed in to REM.  After reviewing the contract, we attempted to access the website listed on the bottom of the contract.  To our suprise, the www.rem2rent.com had zero listings.  After check other sites listed those also did not contain any listings.  Feeling a fraudulent act had be taken, I immediately contacted my credit card company and explained to them my sequence of events.  At the same time card services suggested that I send a certified mail to REM to cancel the services.  I requested that REM contact me when they received my letter.  On 20 Jul 09, I had a voicemail message from REM on my home that stated that the contract could not be terminated because it was not cancelled in the appropriate timeframe.  REM is using the date the contract was printed versus the date the contract was signed.
