I signed a contract with Resort Release for $5,000.00 to cancel my timeshare contract on Sept. 7th 2016. I try to call their office to get an update on my timeshare contract, but just simply get the run around. I have left several messages and also inquired on their website to have a representative call me with no success here lately. I feel like I have been ripped off and lied to. I would not suggest doing business with these crooks. It has been over two years and I still own my timeshare and am not behind on my maintenance fees. My resort is threatening me with legal action as well.

Question: Why is the resort threatening you with legal action?

I am curious. How in the world can the resort threaten you with legal action if you are current on your payments? Seems like a contradiction. If you are following along with the terms of your contract, the resort would have no cause of action. Contact an attorney. A real one, not one associated with the scammer company you provided the $5k deposit to in this complaint.

As to the scammer that is giving you the run around: report them to whatever legal authority in your state that governs that bussiness. Start with the Attorney General's office. Many of those timeshare cancelation companies are bogus. From what I have seen they collect a fee up front and then do nothing for you to get you out of the timeshare contract. Then they dissappear.

By the way, a (legitimate) attorney would have been the right resource to go to for a contract termination assuming you were beyond your cancelation period in the contract for purchase.
