I have been scammed by Resorts Anytime.  My family an I owned a Points based time share in Florida.  We routinely used our points to stay at other places through RCI.  If fact this is how we were staying in Hilton Head in 2010.  While there we were approached by Resorts Anytime to listen to their sales pitch.  We agreed just to get the certificate for the dolphin cruise.  We were not interested in purchasing another time share.  Boy what a mistake that decision turned out to be.

We attended the meeting and were very surprised that they were not selling time shares.  They were selling memberships to a Hilton Head Island vacation club.  The salesman stated that this program was much better than owning a time share.  He says Hilton Head Island is a highly desirable place to vacation.  So much so that it is tough and will soon be impossible to excahnge RCI points to stay at Hilton Head resorts through RCI.  Therefore eventually we would not be able to use our points to vacation at Hilton Head.  He had just the exclusive program for us though.  It was the best of both worlds.  It was a Hilton Head vacation club.  This club had an exclusive network of private luxury residences that only club members could rent.  Also the cost to rent was only about the same as the cost of our current maintenance fee for our time share which was about $700.  Further, as a member of the club we would also be entitled to make additional reservations at all of the same resorts as we did with RCI.  The only cost to make these types of reservations was about that of our current maintenance cost.

It all seemed better.  We currently paid a yearly fee to RCI and an annual maintenance fee for our timeshare but we were not guaranteed to be able to use our points to go to Hilton Head.  With this program we would only pay an amount equivalent to a maintenance fee when we vacationed and a yearly membership fee which was about $150.  Also, we had exclusive opprotunity to vacation at Hilton Head through the vacation club.  So we jumped on it.  We paid $2620 for an erollment fee and $289 for a processing fee.  This erollment fee was originally much higher, but we  had it reduced by trading in our current time share in Florida.  We were feeling good.  We could vacation at Hilton Head every year if we wanted in members only private residences and we no longer had to pay a yearly maintenance fee.  We only paid if we vacationed that year.

Well fast forward to 2014.  We attempted to make a private residence reservation for the first time.  We hadn't been able to vacation for the past 4 years do to busy schedules and low finances.  I called the private residence reservation number for Resorts Anytime and the lady sent me a list of four places that were available.  Boy was I surprised.  First of all, the price was much higher that the maintenance fee that I had been paying.  We were told that private residences would cost us about $800.  That was the advantage of being in the club.  The prices of the places sent to me were all about $1300 for the week.  What is even more troubling is I Googled each of the places that Resorts Anytime had sent me.  Much to my surprise, I could reserve the exact same units through other companies for less than Resorts Anytime quoted me and didn't have to be a member of any club.  These units were not exclusive residences for club members.

I called Resorts Anytime back and questioned them on my findings.  The lady told me she had a database of places that were available and that is what she sent me.  I asked her about the club exclusive properties and she again repeated that she had a database of properties and that is all she knows.  She said that I would need to speak to her manager Rodney Yurco.  I left him a voice mail and he eventually called me back.  I explained the situation to him and he told me that they do not have exclusive private residences.  The have access to many residences/condos that they can get at wholesale price.  He said that nobody else can get the wholesale prices.  I explained to him my findings of cheaper prices at other websites for the exact same unit.  He did not believe me and he requested that I forward this information to him.  He also stated that they had a price match guarantee.  They will match a lower price and give you 10% of the difference.  That 10% will amount to about $2.50.  Wow.  How long will those 10% amounts take to pay for the initial investment plus the $150 annual fee.  Never!

So I did as he had asked and sent him the competitive information but I have not heard from him since.  I have left multiple voicemails with Rodney Yurco but he has yet to call back.  Do not do businees with these people.  They take your money to join a club promising cheaper exclusive rental rights but actually only provide rentals that anybody can get without belonging to a club.  I just want my money back and never to deal with these crooks again.  I know I will never get my original time share back but if only I can recoup the rest of the enrollment fee.
