Restore Construction Chicagoland Restoration Company Acts As Firechasers & Preys on Homeowners Franklin Park Illinois
Franklin Park, IL - Most people don't know where to turn after they have property damage and are even more distraught after having a fire. I was given a recommendation and didn't really do my homework. I now see that many have made the mistake as I did by turning to Restore Construction. I was not happy with repairs made to my home and had I did more research on this company I would have seen that I am not the only one. It was a little too late to research but I hopefully I can help prevent others from making the same mistake I did. I have come to find that this company was named as a shady contractor after a public adjusting company convinced homeowners that had a fire in 2013 to go with them but also have Restore Construction handle their repairs. I wasn't aware that this company who portrayed themselves as a reputable contractor was associated with a public adjuster firm. They knew up front that I am not in favor of those types of companies and they swore to me they do not associate with them. I found another lawsuit naming Restore Construction as the defendant after being sued by Scottsdale Insurance Company in 2009. When I searched for reviews on this company I wasn't pleased with what I saw. Needless to say I have switched insurance companies and left after my insurance agent recommended this unscrupulous restoration company to repair my home. When I searched through Cook County's online case docket search I was shocked to see how many lawsuits they were named the defendant in, there are 46 lawsuits for the public to see. These lawsuits stem from 1993 all the way to 2015. How can a company that keeps getting sued even stay in business? At first I thought that they were decent seeing as they were listed as having an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. I later scroll down the page only to find that they have 13 complaints filed on them within the last 3 years. It looks like I was not the only one who didn't agree with their workmanship. Since many people know I have had a fire I have many ask how I am doing and I share my dissatisfaction about how the process went and to avoid this company at all costs. Too my surprise a friend of mine had another friend that also had their home catch on fire a few years earlier. Disturbing enough, Restore Construction handled their fire too! I was informed that their restoration was also a nightmare. They showed up just as the fire was going out and offered to board up their home. Someone that wasn't sent by an insurance company is usually known as a fire chaser around our area. We can only assume they were listening to scanners seeing as they were at the home before she had even got a chance to call her insurance company. Through the information I have heard form others that had experience with them and what I have found online in my own research I now know this is a company that doesn't need to be sent our by insurance companies or preying on homeowners as a fire chaser. With a reputation such as theirs I am appalled the attorney general has not shut them down sooner. I will also be notifying them of my bad experience and findings. Take my advice and don't do what I did. Do your research before choosing a contractor to repair your home.
