Very Rude. Andrew hung up on me several times. I recorded all phone conversations with ReverbNation. They falsely accused me of infringement.

I signed up for ReverbNation.com a year ago. They gladly took my money. I wrote a comical parody and uploaded it. Under Campbell v. Acuff-Rose Music, 510 U.S. 569, the courts ruled that a parody constitutes fair use. Despite this, ReverbNation closed my account and accused me of infringement. I didn't know this until recently because I had many health problems in the last year and logging into ReverbNation was the least of my worries. When I called, I was told my account was suspended. I spoke to a very rude employee named Andrew. I explained to Andrew that it is perfectly legal to publish a parody online. Despite the fact that he told me that my account was closed to infringement, he said "That's irrelevant sir". How is it irrelevant? It's not. Andrew went on to say that he won't reopen my account "Because you account has been suspended for more than 12 months."

As I mentioned before, this was directly due to ongoing health problems. When I told Andrew that it didn't make sense that my account wouldn't be reopened simply because of the lapse in time, he replied with the same robotic, generic response as before : "That's irrelevant sir." Everything is irrelevant to Andrew. When I asked to speak to his supervisor, he outright refused, stating "I don't have a supervisor." I called back several times until someone other than Andrew answered the phone. They patched me through to Steve Smith. I explained the situation to Steve. He said he would call me back. He never did. I even sent a detailed email to the CEO. He never replied.

I don't know how they are still in business with the way they treat their customers. For my protection, all calls between ReverbNation and I have been recorded and are available you to see at any time. I am sure that I will receive another generic response. ReverbNation is also very likely going to respond to this complaint evasively, avoiding everything that I am saying in here. In fact, I would bet money on it that they will not address any of the concerns in this complaint, and will respond with a generic response like "We don't condone copyright infringement, we apologize for the inconvenience". Andrew said to me "You are not welcome as a customer of ReverbNation." Then he hung up. It's disgusting the way he talks to customers.

Reverb nation has failed to respond to my BBB complaint. They have been rude, uncooperative and unprofessional. There are other better options such as Bandcamp. This has been an absolute nightmare for me and I hope that this report will spare someone the aggravation that I had to endure as a Reverbnation.com customer. Beware, beware, beware.
