RGS has been calling me non-stop since September for an account they just got for me on file. The first guy, Chris, who called about it was pleasant and I was trying to work a payment plan out with him in my budget. He said he had to check with his manager and call me back on an amount we both agreed up on.

The next time I got a call was from a guy named Andre'. He was not pleasant at all and I could not get a word in. I explained to him that I was unemployed and I am only able to pay a certain amount, the same amount Chris and I had talked about. I spend over 20 minutes on the phone explaining my situation to him. He was extremely rude (which by the way I record all of my calls on my cell phone and have proof) and finally accused me of not wanting to pay it, and that he will call me back in three days, and again in three days, and then in three days after that and then hung up on me. RUDE!!!

I replayed the call, and I promise you you could hear me constantly trying to interrupt to say something with no success! How can you get anything resolved like this??

I have talked to him every time, I know it is him calling and I pick the phone and talk to him. If I did not want to take care of this debt, I would not answer his calls.

Today, he called again. I answered his call. He says he has a "new offer" for me, because the last one expired. I listened. It was the same offer as last time, which I could not do and still in the same place.  I told him I was not going to let him argue with him like he did last time. He asked what I could do today and said he has to check with his manager.

His manager comes back on the phone and says he cannot accept the offer that Andre offered me. What? Why did he offer it? To waste my time?

He asked why is it that I cannot pay what they are asking. I told him because I am unemployed. He asked how long have I been unemployed and I told him.

Then he asked:" How are you able to pay for this $250000 dollar house you have?" I said:" It was foreclosed up on."
He said that he does not believe me, because he does not see it as foreclosure on my credit.  I told him that it just happened last month and maybe it has not been reflected on there.
He said:" Next time we talk the whole amount will be due. Have a merry Christmas."

And again RGS hangs up on me before I can say anything else. Is this regular practice for collection agencies or just RGS's RUDE way of conducting business??

Not only did he harass me while I am trying to resolve the debt with the best solution I have for my situation right now, but he ACCUSED  me of lying to him about a house that I loved and lost because I got disabled. This is really sad!

All he had to do is look and he can see that the credit report will reflect the payment pattern on the house!

I am definitely not laying low on this one! A call to my attorney is next!

My name is Chris Pruitt. I am a Vice President at RGS Financial. I received your voicemail this weekend regarding your account, and I am in the process now of reviewing the call recordings you referenced.

Without having yet reviewed them, I'd still like to apologize for the experience you had with us. I'd also like to say, unequivocally, that what you've described is not how we train our representatives to interact with consumers. As you may have surmised from my prior responses on this site, we take our reputation seriously, and we understand that our words must be supported by our actions.

We've stopped collection efforts on your account while I work through the call recordings and notes. I'll be in touch with you shortly to let you know what I've learned, what we're doing about it, and then finally to work with you to get the account resolved in a manner that fits your circumstances.

If you want to call me sooner, or if anyone else in this forum has issues they would like to discuss, I can be reached at 877-457-8500 ext 2009. I'm not always at my desk, so if you get my voicemail, don't hesitate to call back and have me paged. I can also be reached by email at cpruitt@rgsfinancial.com.
