Rhino Engines And Transmissions won't refund my purchase amount after rhino canceled my order Fairport New York
I purchased a diesel engine on August 20, 2008 and was told by my sales person Brian that it would ship in 3-4 business days. I called 5 days later to get a tracking number and the unit hadn't shipped due to parts problem. I was told that it would be a few days to receive parts, so I called back a few days later and was told the engine didn't pass inspection, it would be another few days to rebuild unit.
This continued from 8-25-08 till 9-25-08 when final confirmation was given to me that Rhino had canceled my order because they *ran out of blocks. I was told that if I needed help in the future from them I would receive a discount.
I was told by Tim Cone, owner/manager, that I would receive reimbursement in 3-5 business days. I have called each week after to verify if funds have been sent- by the way, I did the total and completely stupid thing a human could have possibly done, I paid for my order in full by a wire transfer, don't ever do that - I was told repeatedly "the check will be sent shortly", " I don't know what the problem is but I will inform the accounting department". I always talk to the same lady Cindy, she hasn't been rude or ugly in any way when I call. Tim Cone, the owner/manager hasn't returned any calls made to him, but from contact prior he hasn't been rude either, just apologetic.
They constantly use delay tactics to stall for whatever reason, I think they just let consumers money build their bank account. I don't know what else to do but contact an attorney, i've been waiting since August for an engine and since September for a refund of over 7500.00.
I would not recommend this company to anyone, I got the same song and dance as others who have posted a report for Rhino. I can only say BUYER BEWARE.

Rhino still dancing around with my refund

Once again I've called to verify release of my refund and Cindy told me she'd relay my communication with accounting and said she doesn't know what the hold up is. I asked to speak to someone else and got forwarded to Tim Cone's voicemail, the owner of the business. I called back for the sales department and got ahold of Tim, and I told him we haven't received our reimbursement yet and he told me "if you have already been told that accounting would be notified that I don't need to call all the lines" because he was covering for a sales associate that was out sick today and I was hogging the lines. I cannot believe the way customers are treated, not even 2 minutes spent on the call. I asked point blank are we going to receive payment back and he assured yes, but would not give me a time frame. So, I'm still waiting.
