Complaint Review: Rhodehome women and men/family shelters

There's No hot water on the women's side of this shelter. Its run by a board of mormon men who hire supervisors and a director, matt who does not help the women.  if you get a bed upstairs they are put together in one room in tiny cubby dividers with bunk beds-6-10 women to a cubby with bunkbeds like jail.

If a woman is cycling they only give you a few tampons and a couple pads on heavy flow days.  Kicked out by 6am into freezing temperatures in winter  all day long if you have a bed you can go in at 3pm if not you wait until 10:30pm even in witner. a woman was found dead on a highway overpass b/c the shelter wouldnt let her in. 

every year slc telemarkets to get donations they use the police to block the shelter block and ticket homeless while using them to get 500,000yr in donations so theyre exploited not helped.  the mormon run citys attitude is if youre homeless youre cursed and deserve to suffer b/c the mormon pioneers suffered.  also the mission is only for men, there is no other options for women unless you have evidence of a domestic violent circumstance.

The employees like george matt and others who work there drive new 60,000 Cadillacs and Audi's. They steal homeless persons items anything of value they sell on ebay.  In the back south of womens shelter there are 3 Deseret Industries Vans with donations For the shelter. 

The shelter people only see valueless dollar low quality items and the rest donated by the malls here and for tax write offs etc. is all taken to the Mormon owned Deseret Industries mulitmillion or billion corp Second hand stores all over UT and nationwide.  They dont just get 10%thithing, they sell used everything w/o negotiation in price.

The Deseret Industries used merchandise stores have undercover security and SLCPD and FBI in each store who follow everyone whether you steal or not, they stare you down as an intimidation bully harassment even when youre just looking around.  Youre treated like a criminal no matter what. 

Theyre forced out at 6am daily families kids women men to wonder slc downtown with all their belongings and not given jobs.  if the companies know you have stayed at a shelter at all you are not considered for a job and you get slandered from a Black list of names of nonmormons created by the mormons and Outed into wolves of society of homeless bums, addicts, alcoholics,  thieves, criminals, murderers, etc. many many people camp out throughout slc downtown b/c the shelter wont let them in

THey ticket panhandlers outside the mall and on the sidewalks in line to get into the shelter. the mission also mormon run takes the items donated by the malls and puts them into storage units.  they only give out the used things to homeless and the new things are sold.

last year the body shop had a barrel full of giftsets, not one woman at the shelter got one.  they rape women in the temple downtown and women used to get stoned on the temple grounds for talking about being raped by grandfathers, uncles, brothers, husbands, cousins.

winters here are extreme bone chilling from 0-115 in summer. winter is 6-8mo's. people are always sick the shelter is filthy w/bedbugs, lice, dust 1-2 inc thick 7in. above their heads where they sleep  they breathe spiders poisonous hobos.

some people hang themselves in the shelter.  when you get sick they tell you to go to 4th street clinic another scam, they give you antibiotics instead of cleaning all the dust in the shelter.  those people are sick all yr long and couldnt get wk if they wanted b/c the exhaustion is overwhelming and they usually snap mentally or get on social security
