In Sept of 2002, i purchased approx $2500 of bedroom furniture. It was no payments,no interest for 16 months. I was advised to purchase the disability insurance, in case I was out of work, they make your payments.
In March of 2003, I was disabled and called in for the paperwork to be sent to me to get filled out by me and the Dr. The Dr. charges $20.

I then called to ask where I was to send it, and was told that with this type of promotion, I didn't qualify. This was in April. I was so angry, I tore up the papers and they let me cancel the insurance from April on. The following day, I got a call from the corporate office explaining they made an error, I did qualify. I only had to fax a letter stating I wanted to begin the insurance again. I did.

They sent me out paperwork one more time. Again, I had the Dr. fill it out, paid $20. I then mailed it to the address on the form. Months went by, and I didn't receive anything. I called them. I was told again, I do not qualify. I reported it to the BBB and they claim I never sent in the paperwork. Another lie.

Again, I am out on disability, and they expect me to redo all of it over. Not a chance. I requested I be reimbursed for the insurance I'd been charged/ripped off. They declined. Also, they were supposed to set up my furniture, bet, etc..they didn't. I had to hire someone. My cabinet doors broke off, I reported it, they never responded. Again, I had to hire someone to re-hang them.

The locks on the cabinets are and have been broken for months, and ignored me, until they got a copy of the BBB complaint. I am out over $500, for having to pay over $200 for the insurance, $40 for the Dr. to fill out papers, $75 to have the doors hung, $200 to have this HUGE bed put together, and move all of the heavy pieces, that were set in the middle of my room. They've been nothing but rude, and don't seem to care one bit. I paid for something I didn't get.

Disability ins, they delivered the furniture, but didn't set it up, they didn't fix what was broken, etc. I told them from the beginning, I'd have it paid in full before any interest would accrue and didn't need the insurance. But they convinced me otherwise. Since I have disability insurance on my 3 cars at work, I know it can come in handy, especially if you are having a bad year. To this day, depending on who you talk to, they don't know if one is covered on the promo or not. I want to be reimbursed for what they ripped me off, and I'll tell everyone I know.

We also did recieve a letter from the BBB. We have responded to both.

Hinges for the door chest and the locks were ordered and shipped to customer.

Customer was set up a service call on 11/25/03 and the technician repaired the door chest hinges and the night stand and touched up the pieces that the customer requested. The customer signed the completed service order as being satisfied with service and repair. There was no charge for the repair fo the merchandise as the customer does have a five year warranty.

In response to the disablility claim, the customer was sent a claim form on April 24, 2003. We did not hear from the customer until the BBB complaint. We sent the customer correspondence asking for return of the form in order to process the claim on October 29, 2003.As of this date we have not heard from the customer again.
