Complaint Review: Ricardo Lara

 I had won a settlement where my mother was abused in a home  and she had eventually passed away. So in honor of both my parents myself and my daughter decided to improve the house by remodeling the initial structure and convert the garage into a two story 3 bath house. By a recommendation from a friend I was introduced to Mr. Lara. Mr. Lara offered to to do the task for 45k ; which also included a kitchen remodeling as well. All permits , plans were to be included  as well. This contract was initiated in February of this year. Now it is June I don't have a kitchen ,plans, nothing. As was told to me by Mr. Lara he invested my money into drugs to make a profit. He stated he was a part of family that did this type of action and an offer came up to invest NOW and get 3 times the money back. So because of this action I became a inadverdent financier for an illegal drug trade and he lost the money. That to me is embezzlement.. I tried to contact local police about this matter .. only to be told it is a civil matter; no investigation on tis action; called DEA to report it as well; was asked if I saw the drugs I said no I did not want to see what he was willing to show me as proof of what he was doing. DEA hung up on me. FBI ..Federal crimes only. So now this is my only recourse . I don't have the  money to even get a lawyer, I am broke.
