Rich Dad Education, Wealth Intelligence Academy i sipped the coolaid, but i didn't drink Cape Coral Florida
i wish i would have read these other reports before i plunked down my money for the first three day seminar. like the others, i went to the free 2 hour seminar because of the reputation of Robert Kiyosaki. they get you to sign on there, because if you went home and did a little homework, most people wouldn't purchase the three day real estate seminar.
my story is very similar to the others, down to the flea bag hotel. there were so many red flags i could have been at a red cross convention, but i kept telling myself, this kiyosaki guy is respected in the business world, don't be so closed minded.
the presenter followed the same script as the others i've read about: no formal education, he didn't know what Columbia University was...we weren't allowed to network, no questioning the theory or we could be thrown out...
while there was some decent information about real estate, it wasn't anything different from what you'd find in any real estate investing book. well, except for the part where they told us to get as much on our credit cards as possible...so we could "invest in our future". they were charging tens of thousands of dollars for people to get the "advanced" training.
so i'm out a couple of hundred dollars, but i feel bad for those who may have put the money on their cards in hopes of a better future. my advice is to go to the bookstore, buy some books, find someone local who has been successful in this business and go forward.
Put the cup down! do not drink this cool aid.

On the contrary to the 'anonymous' poster saying that Anne's position is 'weak', as a student of Rich Dad, I would agree with her statement and her request for clarification of the complaint.
If Rich Dad is guilty of anything, it is their 'method' of delivery or marketing with the 3 hours free, and $500 weekend, and appeal to get people to use their credit cards. I can see someone finding fault with the 'technique' or means of delivery. At the same time, one cannot really complain about the 'product' or service without actually taking one of the courses or deliveries (that do not market but focus on delivery). As a student of one of these courses (for stock market investing) and a purchaser of two, I can attest to the quality, followup, excellent teachers, good networking with peers, and well delivered teaching material with pre-training available online, and material available for followup (and my ability to retake the course again if need be).
All of the complaints here seem to be with the 'sales pitch' or technique to get one to a course. It would be good to hear from others who have attended actual 'fee' classes. Not all feedback may be rosy. However, I have heard from one person who had a bad weekend, and Rich Dad credited it for a replacement. This was not my experience, as my training was excellent.
Let's make the 'complaints' focus on the product/service, and not the sales pitch.

Financial literacy is about doing research and making informed decisions. I would very much like to address your issues, but I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you're complaining about. You said you received decent information about real estate at the initial training but it appears that you did not want to invest in the advanced training. That's certainly your choice. Our instructors clearly state at our preview and introductory trainings that most people will need more training in order to learn how to become profitable real estate investors. Our courses are but one option for that training.
If you have a specific complaint about the quality of our training, I would certainly like to hear from you so we can address it.
