The drip pan was not placed under my AC causing approx 35 gallens of water to flood my attic. This is against code. Supposedly this was checked by three different individuals. The roof was incorrectly installed so that there was flooding inside my walls whenever it rained. . This caused flooding, molding and my house was torn apart for monthes. This was after I had to convince a very bitter sounding, very rude customer service person that it needed to be checked for mold and not just repainted.

The workmen were quite unprofessional and I had to stay home several days to babysit them while they did repairs. The piping in my bathroom tub was cut too short so that when my bath shower was used it started to flood inside the walls and put a big hole inside my living room wall. I could not bear to try to get Richmond to do the repairs they are so awful to work with. So, Any water on the outside of the building causes the paint to come off .

And after I did my walk thru and pointed out the paint flaws on the walls, they marked the places with blue tape and then after I had lived int he house for a couple monthes I realized they just painted over the blue tape.. And the paint they use is so watered down it is awful.

I just wanted to add a "tid-bit" on this one. Actually the same EXACT situation happened with my parents home in Phoenix built by Meritage homes. We came to find out that it was the A/C companies fault, basically lazy work. While Richmond needs to keep to their warranty repairs in a timely fashion, you may also find it quicker to call your A/C company (most likely Chas Roberts) That is who installed in these Meritage homes and MANY of the homes there have had similar issues.

We found that if we called them direct, we can get them there much quicker for the repairs and they take care of the paperwork for us. Just be sure to contact your subdivison warranty manager for your home and keep copies of your paperwork.
