Back in Dec of 2007 I brought an elk to Rick's for processing. As part of the deal, he was to make Italian Hot Sausage with 30 lbs of ground from the animal. When I went to pick it up, several weeks later, he indicated that the meat "went bad". Apparently, they had left it out too long before they made the sausage and it spoiled (by their own admission). At that time he indicated that he'd replace the meat and make another batch of sausage, as he "knew a guy" in McAlester, Ok, that had some elk. I have called Rick no less than 6-8 times requesting resolution and he kept putting me off saying that he hasn't had time to go to McAlester to get the meat. Finally, today, (January, 20, 2009), I called and asked him if he was ever going to resolve my issue and he told me "No, go ahead and seek some other resolution", and hung up the phone on me. At this point I have no other choice but to seek restitution through this process.

My name is David and I recently had an almost identical customer experience with Rick's Custom Processing in Collinsville, OK. The better business bureau has asked me to contact the author of this original complaint and see if I could get them to provide their story directly to the BBB so they can put a stop to Rick Hall's current business practices. I am also working to provide statements to the BBB, from other individuals involved in this situation. Sure would be nice to get some restitution from this shady operator.
