May 2005, I received a mail from a collector agency, Rickenbacker Collections. The mail said that I am responsible for a towed 87 Toyota.

The letter said that if I notify the office in writing, they will obtain and send me validation of their claim. I wrote Rickenbacker Collections a letter, telling them that they had a wrong person. I told them that their mail was addressed to a SonKim Nguyen, and my name is Son Xuan Nguyen. And I have never owned any Toyota in my life. I did not receive any response from Rickenbacker so I assumed they found the right person and the matter was over.

However, around October 2006, I looked at my credit report and found the incident is still on my record.
I've tried to email the company but received an automated response saying that they cant respond to me. I tried calling and explaining the situation. After a run around, I managed to make my point. But I was instructed to get a registration from DMV - they did not say what kind of registration - and send it to them along my social security number. I am somewhat hesitant to give out my social security number.
