Be aware of RideNow’s sales practice to lure potential customers into their shop before the products are marked up with service fees, registration fees, etc. In my case they have listed on Craigslist a used 2019 Honda CRF50F for $999. RideNow is approx. 3 hours away from my house so I called yesterday to make sure the Bike is still available.

I spoke to Breanna. She was very friendly and confirmed the Honda CRF50F was still available. I asked her if I could pay cash or with credit card. She said both ways would work. I was aware of their disclaimer and asked again for the price. She confirmed the $999 and didn’t mention any fees. Breanna confirmed our meeting for today via a text. Up to that point I thought RideNow is a professional and service oriented business.

My two sons and a friend of mine drove the three hours to RideNow today and arrived there at 1pm – as agreed with Breanna. It turned out that Breanna was at lunch so her colleague (also very friendly) to take of us. First this sales person helped us to find and pick safety gear for my son before we looked at the Bike.

My son was very excited of course. Turned out that the “used” Honda was sold yesterday late during business hours. “Luckily” they could offer a brand new Honda CRF50F for only $1230. $230 more than I originally anticipated but therefore brand new. So I agreed to buy the new bike and wanted to proceed to check-out. Now the out of the door price all of sudden increased to $2,500 – Two and a half times as listed. They included charges like an oil filling fee of $230, a registration fee of $500….

I declined the purchase and spoke to the Financing Manager. As expected she was not willing to sell the bike without their markups. She apologized, told me that the used bike had sold already one week ago and also apologized for the false “indications” on their Craigslist post and here comes the best part – she told me they would try to do better on future listings. Please be aware. I strongly recommend to avoid this business if you can.
