Rides Unlimited (Adam) was informed 2 days after receipt of 2002 Subaru Forester (I bought this on EBAY Item #200338802248) that it had a check engine light "on", and the car was running very poorly. A diagnostic, paid by me, showed that the front O2 sensor was bad and the computer had been cleared a few days prior to my receipt of the vehicle. Adam admitted, at this time, that the Check engine light had come on and that he had it forcibly cleared by their mechanic. The seller was aware of this problem and did not disclose this. The seller also said I have no case because the car was listed "AS IS" and that he would not reimburse me for the diagnostic and repair. The car was NOT listed AS IS. I also pointed out to him, at that time, that the right rear wheel bearing was shot and the Left front CV joint has to be replaced. All I wanted was the cost of the diagnostic and repair of the O2 sensor. They said they would call me back and never did. Other items, which were listed on the EBAY auction page (as if they were working), were power/heated mirrors (wiring fried, repaired by me), clock (broken, replaced by me) & heated seats (wiring fried, repaired by me). The seller also stated (on the ebay feedback) that they offered to buy the car back, but I never called back. That is a complete lie. I was never offered to have the car bought back, and at this stage, I have already invested too much money and time to take a loss like that. Unless the dealer is willing to settle the cost of the vehicle plus all of the repairs I've already done.

Was this car delivered to you or did you go and pick it up?

If you went and inspected the car you are really out of line.  If this was dropped off at your door you have the right to be slightly upset, but honestly if I bought a car for $3000 I wouldn't be expecting the world.  In this price range you need to shop locally because how a car performs is much more important than what it is technically worth.

Did you contact Adam / Rides Unlimited Crest Hil / Jomark Inc and tell them you posted here on Ripoff?  That might get a little action.  Clearly they put in writing they would take the car back.

jomark_illinois 's feedback is pretty bad so I am sure you aren't the first upset customer, but again if you picked the car up in person it is your own fault.  Odds are they didn't even drive the car far enough or inspect it at all to know if it was a lemon or not before they sold it to you.

The seller's feedback is pretty bad so I am sure you aren't the first upset customer, but again I think you got what you paid for.
