I wanted to pass a motorcycle training course so I wouldn't have to take the ride test at the Arizona Motorcycle test. I made the huge mistake of selecting RideSmart Motorcycle Training Inc. In Phoenix, Arizona. These people are all about the money and not about caring or people. In the class I took, there were two major incidents that allowed this ripoff company to take students tuition. In the first case a young man who had saved for months to afford the cost was stuck on the freeway due to an accident and arrived only ten minutes late. He was told too bad and had lost his money and if he wanted to complete the class he had to repay his 200 dollar plus fee and start all over. How were they able to shamefully do this? They have three pages of disclaimers they send that most of us don't understand. The second incident involved a sixty plus year old senior citizen old enough to be someone's grandfather. He pulled his bike off to the side because he didn't understand what he was expected to do and was accosted and screamed at in the vilest language by one of the so called instructors. This grandfather type was confused and just pulled over to wait for further instruction when a bully instructor named Eric ordered him off the property. While other instructors tried to intervene the poor man was so shook up he never returned. There are lots of schools available for the old and young to attend in Phoenix. AVOID RIDESMART MOTORCYCLE TRAINING INC.

In regard to Mr. Evans complaint...

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mr. Paul Evans enrolled for our Basic Rider Course, which is a curricula set forth through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, for the weekend of June 22, 2012.  As explained on our website, on the email confirmation, and verbally in class, safety is our first priority.

Before riders take to the range to learn their riding skills, instructors verbally discuss the upcoming exercise, and then demonstrate the exercise in its entirety.  Upon completing the demonstration, all ten students are asked by both instructors if they have any questions or concerns prior to commencing the exercise.  On day two of the course, Mr. Evans repeatedly did not follow instructions, cutting through oncoming traffic when he felt he did not want to partake in additional practice of the riding exercises.  He was pulled aside in private and asked to cease that action, as it could potentially cause a safety issue.  He went back onto the course to practice his riding, and when he prematurely quit practicing he cut through oncoming traffic again and nearly caused an accident.  Again, he was pulled aside in private and counseled as to the great concern and risks surrounding his actions.

At no time was Mr. Evans counseled out of class, asked to leave the premises, or terminated in any way.  His instructor was a gentleman named Erik, whom along with another instructor by the name of Don, indeed had to discuss the grave situation that Mr. Evans was causing with his actions.  If Mr. Evans was unsatisfied with the manner in which Erik delivered the information, it would have been beneficial that he talk with Don or one of the other three instructors that were on the range at that time.  Mr. Evans successfully completed his second day of training but did not show up for his third day, nor did he contact RideSmart after that time.

As for Mr. Evan's accusations about a student being turned away from class and told to repay tuition, we did not have any late students on Saturday.  It is unclear what he is referring to.

Had Mr. Evan's spoke with any staff at RideSmart, including Erik, or called in the the office to discuss his situation, we feel we would have been able to address his situation head on and would have  done our very best to bring the situation to a satisfactory resolution for him.  However, his choice was not show up for his last day of training and instead to report to RipOffReport.com and cut off communication.

We welcome everyone to visit our website at www.ridesmartmotorcycle.com.  Under the "School" link is and FAQ section that references all terms and conditions about the course.  We also encourage questions for anyone wanting more information.
