Ridgid Tools Warranty is completely worthless Nationwide
I purchased a set of Ridgid tools at home depot after being assured of lifetime warranty even on batteries.
Toolset failed after several years, took set back to home depot with original receipt and ridgid refused to honor the warranty.
Manager of store was not happy and forced the retrurn anyway so i have a new set of Ridgid tools. However manager made me fill out the warranty paperwork on the spot and submit it telling me it was the only way to be sure they would honor the warranty.
Fast forward a few years and the new tools are dead, no abuse or accidents just half the tools are worn out as are all 3 batteries.
Guess what, Ridgid won't honor this warranty claim either. They deny that my information is in their system. The same manager verified that i had filled it out and he had sent it. They do not care and claim there is nothing they can do.
A lifetime warranty means exactly that which is why i bought them in the first place. My house has a lifetime roof, guess what that means i will never have to buy another roof and if something goes wrong it will be fixed or replaced free,
If you claim a lifetime warranty to sell tools, and don't honor it, I think there is a word for that.
I am not a contractor, I am a skilled amateur woodworker who fixes his own house because I cannot afford to pay someone to fix it.
Having a 600 dollar set of tools as a total loss is unacceptable. I will deepsix the tools and my 5-10k a year home depot habit before I accept this quietly.

Tried to exchange on of my batteries today at the same autherised repair shop that I exchange a few years ago, and to my suprise Ridgid did not have any record of me and wanted be to supply a reciept for 2003. I had no problem the fist time I did this, they even replaced my charger. but now they just do not want to honor the commitment by "Ridgid" not having any record of your service or relationship with there warranty department and want a reciept that is 12 years old, as if you can still read it, they start to fade after a week. I will discurage anyone from purchasing a cordless tool with the name Ridgid on it, there batteries are garbage.
