I answered a paper Ad left in my mailbox re: Cheaper Heaters and airconditioners being sold due to the agent buying in bundle and passing the savings along.  It was also stated that the sale needed to be made before the end of the year.  I checked the Better business Report on this company,on-line and was informed they were a member of the Better Business Bureau with no unresolved complaints. (I had worked with the Better Busness Beueau in California and understood the concept of benefiting the buseness community by behaving in a reputable manner with the public and I trusted the report and therefore the company.)

It was already the end of December when I'd contacted them and they sent a salesman righgt out.  I was planning on selling my home and already knew from my heater repairman that my heater easn't working at full capacity but we were nursing it through but I figured a new heater would relieve one of my worries about the heater being old or giving out before I could get the house sold, Mr. Ross informed me that the preformance of a new heater would be so much cheaper to operate and so much more efficient, that added to the advertisement that two other products would be bundled in for free; it would be cover the cost of the heater in just what I'd save in my electric bill. He gave me a quote of $6000.00 which I was happy with since I had that amount to pay off the heater and avoid credit. As he added the additional free items I chose, he confirmed it would still be $6000.00.

At one pointe I asked about a water conditioner because I have well water that left calcium deposits on everything.  He left to go to his car and talk to his boss and came back to tell me we could do this also and he again confirmed it was for $6000.00. He then said we would have to do a quick installation to make it before the end of the year and we scheduled it for that week.

He never went over any paperwork with me or financing details (as I said my plan was to pay the $6000.00 for the equipment. He raced off to get the order in the works. He did not leave me with any paperwork as the workers would be returning in a few days.

After the work was done I believe they had me sign for the work.  I didn't think anymore about it until I got a bill from a finance company stating I owed over $7900.00.  The finance charge was at 9.9% and out of each 100.00 I sent in they took out over $60.00.  I called Zax Ross who said he would come out and explain it to me, but I never spoke to him again though I did try contacting the company again.

It has taken this long to get to the point of reporting this because I am older (65) and disabled and I felt foolish for the steps that behaps I should have taken in firming this up paperwise instead of relying on a salesmans verbal promises.  As I stated I am also disabled with fibromyalgia which makes it difficult to stay alert for long periods of time.  Each time I would pick this up to address it again with the company, other more pressing issues would arrise that required my attention to get resolved I.e. I had a major computer problem and was on the phone for days with Dell computer because I do all my banking on-line and I manage a couple rentals. As I stated I was trying to get my home (Including 2 acres) in order to put it on the market and there were so many things happening at the same time I found myself overloaded most days.  This is the first occassion I have had to get back to this.

On my end I was too trusting but the salesmen never sat down by me and went over any part of the contract I received once the job was done.  As a resolution I want the price to be what I was repeatedly quoted $6000.00 so I can get this bill paid off.  I am on Social security and have a very limited monthly budget.  I can not afford the (.9% interest every month (which would take me 12 years to pay off at $125.17 per month or the $259.00 the mortgage company has requested to get it paid off in 3yrs.  My budget only accodates what I agreed to which was $6000.00 that I was quoted.  I apologize for any typos or confusion in this e-mail.  I am again fatigued.  On the next question I did not supply a credit card but Right now put this through GE Capital.  I wanted to pay the $6000.00

Right Now Heating and Air states they have signed copies of my approval for Price and Financing as of 12/28/2013.  The salesman used the restroom but left a blank sales form laying on a table.

I stupidly signed the bottom to speed things up, anticipating that when he returned, we would be filling in details of the sale.  For as many times he had told me the price of $6000, I did not anticipate anything changing.  I was excited at the additional items I would be getting included in this price but I was also getting fatigued with the length of his visit.  I did not sign any financing paperwork because I was going to pay cash.

When he finally returned from the restroom, he grabbed up this blank form from the table and said goodbye.  I was surprized but also relieved because I needed to rest.

ALL other forms were shoved in my face at the end of the installation on 12/30/2013 as the workers were packing to leave.  They said "these are just forms you need to sign saying your satisfied with the installation". Again I believed the employees of Right Now and I signed the bottom of the forms without knowing what they were.

I have sold my home without realizing any great decrease in the electric billing for the months I remained there and I am still paying on a year old bill and have 4 more years to go since I am on a fixed income and can not increase the payments.

Why not truely settle this with lie detecter tests.  I am more than willing.  Otherwise I stand on Right Now is a dishonest company and I feel sorry for the folks who bought my house and the level of equipment that maybe was installed there.

We are familiar with the grievances of Kathleen from Emmett, ID and are sorry she feels pricing was misrepresented.

We do, however, have documents signed by Kathleen that show all pricing was disclosed and accepted on 2 separate occasions prior to the installation of the HVAC equipment.  These documents include:

  • Proposal/Contract was presented and signed on 12/28
  • Finance sales application/slip presented and signed on 12/28

Additionally, a finance completion slip was signed by Kathleen on 12/30, the day of installation.

There was no misrepresentation of pricing and we believe the document file associated with this case clearly show that fact.

Update to RIP OFF "Right Now Heating" Idaho

My original complaint was about Right Now installing  equipment in my home without leaving me any initial paperwork confirming our agreement.  The salesman kept saying $6000.00 and I said I would probably pay off bill.  When installers handed me paperwork at end of job the noted price was $7980.00.  My equipment had already been ripped out.  "Right Now" also

went ahead and financed this price with GE Capital Finance without any signiture from me to finance.  I Now read on this site that GE Capital Finance is also fraudulant and keeps changing their name, which they are again in the process of doing.
