Right On Time Moving and Storage arrived at my daughter's apartment in San Francisco, CA on June 19th to move her furniture to Cambridge, MA. They charged her $800 more than originally quoted ( she was told that she did not have to pack certain things but they packed them and charged her $320). They also charged her for a flight of stairs ( never mentioned) and then for additional cubic feet when no items had been added.

The furniture was supposed to arrive on July 1st but did not arrive until 10 p.m. 0n July 23rd. This was after many phone calls, promised delivery dates and no shows. Each time they gave us a date, she had to pay $25 to get a parking permit from the city. She also was paying rent on an empty apartment. Many times when she called they hung up on her!

They were supposed to arrive before 6 p.m. on July 23rd but we finally tracked them down and then had to go find them and lead them to the apartment. They then demanded $175 in cash before they would unload. After much argument and a call to CA, they agreed to unload if we would sign a statement saying we were happy with the service, nothing was broken and we would not sue them ever. My daughter refused so they said they were leaving and ,after more arguing, left the furniture on the sidewalk for my daughter, husband and I to get up to her fifth floor apartment.

We have sent them letters and called them many times to no avail. I think that she is owed a refund for the extra charges, being a month late so she had to pay rent on an unusable apartment and for making us carry all the furniture. Why should we pay when we did half the work. I also think it is illegal to demand money! They were rude, wrote everthing in a foreign languge so we couldn't understand and it was the most unpleasant experience we have ever been through! My huband and I also hurt our backs carrying all this furniture.

The person we have tried to contact is named Vickie ( she is apparently a General Mgr.) but she never calls back. In the meantime they have $1992 that they don't deserve.
Can you help?
