Right Toyota in Scottsdale RIPOFF High PRESS SALES Scottsdale Arizona *EDitor's Comment
Just got back from Right Toyota in Scottsdale. What a Ripoff they are. They tried to sell me a used 2003 vehicle with 14,000 miles on it for the same price as a brand new vehicle. In addition they tried to give me an interest rate of over 20%.
When I inquired about the interest rate they could never give me an exact interest number, they just kept saying it was over 20% and that was the best they could do.
When I decided to walk they asked what it would take to make a deal and I told them a lower interest around 10 to 11 and a lower price on the vehicle. At that point they started the high press sales. They wanted a committed to buy the car if they were going to go fight for a 10 to 11 % interest rate. When I explain to them that I would look at the final numbers when they gave them to me and I would decide at the point. They didn't want me to talk to any of my family members to get there opinion on the cost or the interest rate.
When I was walking out the door the sales man said that I should come back when I was ready to make a deal and buy the car without talking to my family members.
I would not trust these guys for the following reason:
1. They never told me exactly what the interest would be. I had to do the math in my head to figure out it was a 20% interest rate.
2. They could never tell me why these 2003 used car had 14,000 miles on it.
3. They could never explain why there were charging the same price for a used 2003 as they charged for a new 2003.
If anyone visits this dealer, be careful! They will set you up and steal your money. They are high press sales man, please be careful!

Dear author! instead of complaining about the dealership you should be thanking them, first of all the only reason you would have such a high interest rate is because you must have not made the "best" financial decisions in your life time, you are lucky they worked with you. There is nothing wrong with a used car with 14,000 miles on it. anyways good luck and keep making those "wise" financial decisions! and do all dealerships a favor and stop wasting their salesmens time!!

DEAR EDITOR,
YOU MADE A MISTAKE AND LISTED MY CONCERNS OF AN EMPLOYEE OF THE COMPANY IN QUETION, WELL I AM NOT!.
I WORKED AS A CREDIT COUNSELOR CERTIFIED THRU THE NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR CONSUMER CREDIT, SO THE INFORNATION I WANTED TO SHARE WITH THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMATION THAT WOULD ASSIST HIM WITH SOME SELF EDUCATION TO AVOID BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF IN THE FUTURE.
EVERY CONSUMER SHOULD CHECK THEIR CREDIT REPORT AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR TO AVOID NEGITIVE REPORTING OR IDENTITY FRAUD.
I HAVE SPOKE TO HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS WHO WERE HAD CONCERNS RELATED TO CONTRACTS THEY HAD SIGNED BUT COULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE ISSUES BECAUSE SIGNED CONTRACTS BEFORE READING THEM THEREFORE, AGREEING TO ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS LISTED ON THE CONTRACT. "ONCE YOU SIGN A CONTRACT TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE IT IS A DONE DEAL"
I WANTED TO GIVE INFORMATION TO THIS CONSUMER THAT MAY HELP HIM IN THE FUTURE AND FEEL YOUR COMMENTS WERE NOT ACCURATE. YOU ASSUMED I WAS A EMPLOYEE THERFORE MY COMMENTS/SUGESTIONS ARE ASSUMED TO HAVE NO MERITT.
PLEASE LIST MY REBUTTAL CORRECTLY OR ARE CONSUMERS WHO DISAGREE WITH OTHERS OPINIONS LISTED AS EMPLOYEES ON PURPOSE TO MAKE THERE COMMENTS WORTHLESS BECAUSE THEY ARE DEFENDING THEIR EMPLOYER.
IF CONSUMERS SPENT MORE TIME EDUCATING THEM SELVE THRU WEB SITES SUCH AS YOURS PRIOR TO THEIR PURCHASES, INSTEAD OF AFTERWARDS COMPLAINING THEY WOULD SAVE THEM SELVES A LOT OF AGGRAVATION, BUT THEN YOU MIGHT BE OUT OF A JOB!
I HOPE ONE OF YOUR MAIN PURPOSES OF THIS WEB SITE IS TO PROMOTE CONSUMER EDUCATION NOT JUST TO BASH THE BAD GUYS.
I ENJOY VISITING YOU WEB SITE AND WILL DONATE TO SHOW MY SUPPORT. I WILL GIVE YOU FAIR WARNING THAT I MAY NOT ALWAYS AGREE WITH COMMENTS THAT ARE LISTED AND AM NOT AFRAID TO TELL IT LIKE IT IS TO GET MY POINT ACROSS!!

J,
I needed not read any further than the first two paragraphs to see what you were full of. (That was about all I could take of your illegible diatribe.) We have documented evidence that Toyota specifically runs a scam where they will sign a deal for a reasonable rate, with people who have nearly perfect fair Isaac scores and then call them back to the lot to sign a different deal by lying to them about the financing falling through.
You are part of the car sales machine in Phoenix and are not to be trusted. Just like the larger part of your brethren and sisters, who manufacture ripoff car deals.

I have some comments regarding the high intrest rate offered.

Mark,
May be you should contact the local credit reporting agencies to see what is being reported on your credit report.
Dealerships do not offer 20% intrest rates to people wih perfect credit, this is something you earned based on your credit worthliness and something you need to take control over or you will always be paing higher intrest rates then the rest of us.
As for them sell the vehcile at the same price as one with no miles, this is there property so they can sell it for any price they want! If you would have purchase it and then discovered the milage issue then that is a different story. But since the milage issue was discussed it tells me they were not tring to mislead you.
If you owen a 2002 corolla with 5000 miles on it and I own one with 15000 miles on it dose that mean yours is worth more then mine, I certainly don't think so. If both our vehicles were stolen and unrecovred according to kelly blue book the insurance company would give us both about the same amount regardless of the miles difference.
It sounds like you wanted to take advantage of the milage on this vehcile to your benifit and maybe offer the dealer a much lower price then what they would settle for, this is called negociating not scamming!!!
How did this dealer set you up and steal your money if you didn't purchase a vehicle from them, this statment is a little premature or mislading don't you think?
Regarding having to talk to family members prior to purchsing a vehicle, you are an adult right. Don't count on information from your family to make your decision, consider your budget, and go on line there are several sites that can educate the consumer better then a family member.
I bet if you were to ask any one of your family members if there was a 3 day right of recision regarding a vehcile purchase they would probally say yes. Well they would be wrong!. Be wise get a copy of your credit report and do some research on line regarding vehcile purchase options before going to a dealership.

I would be very careful about buying a used 2003 with 14,000 miles on it.
Rental car companies have been known to buy new cars and never title them in the rental car companies name. They rent them out for a set period of time and then unload them at auto auctions.
If I remember right the Editor of Rip Off Report telling me that Enterprise Rent a Car had been buying new cars and renting them out untill they get 12,000 to 15,000 miles and dumping them at auto auctions.
It seems that some rental car companies have found a way to buy new cars and rent them and then sell them and leave no paper trail as to the fact that they were in fact a rental car.
Mark I would like for you to go to the following web sites, check them all out and ask yourself what do these web sites do for car dealers? Then come back to your Rip Off Report and post a update as to what you think they all do for car dealers.
www.jeffsacksandassociates.com
www.stukertraining.com
www.paulcummings.com
www.nationalautotraining.com
www.tewart.com
www.joeverde.com

Mark most car dealers do not want you to talk to anybody untill after you sign the papers and go home. Car dealers do not like consumers to become informed before signing the papers.
If you think this Toyota dealer is bad, Go read other Rip Off Reports on Toyota dealers.
I feel that Toyota Motor corp needs to pay close attention to how their dealers are treating car buyers. it does not take long to burn a good reputation.
Mark also read the Rip Off Reports on Toyota about "Sludge in the Crank case' These reports might make you think about buying a Honda or a Nissan.
