I contacted ERA STROMAN about selling my timeshare in Palm Beach, Florida. Representative Valerie Cooper told me that I had an ideal piece of property and the average time to find a cash buyer was 30 to 90 day. She said they had a large buyer base and website. The upfront fee was $499, plus closing costs and tranfer fees. I agreed and put the $499 on a credit card. When we were done talking I went to the website, only to be shocked at finding over 150 weeks for sale at my resort. I called back, another rep said he would have told me that and discouraged me to try to sell at this time. I recently contacted Valerie Cooper, she said there were 85 sales people and she would call me back when she checked to see if there were any pending sale information, she did not call back.
This is fraud. No state should allow an upfront fee to sell a property.
