Rip off AT&T Lied & stuck a free $150 bill To Me
AT & T stuck me with a 150 dollar phone that they said was to be free in the first place. I am not going to elaborate because I could go on for pages and pages, but trust me when I say that I placed many, many phone calls and even sent them 150 dollar to cancel my account and they still didn't cancel the account and I kept getting bills that I know I did not owe money on. Each time I called them they apologized and adjusted my account, but when I got the bills it was contrary to the phone adjustment. Then when I would call about the adjustment they said that I owed this and had to pay it. I told them I didn't owe it and that they owed me credit for my cell phones that I returned. I never did get credit for my final cell phone.
I tried to return my phone within the 30 days. They never sent me a return label. I called 3 or 4 times after cancellation which was within the 30 day trial period for that particular phone. After wasting many, many hours of my time and spend many hours on the phone with several different representatives I finally got my mailing label sent to me 2 months later. When I tried to return the phone a month later they sent it back to me to tell me that I cancelled past my 30 day trial period. This is a lie and AT&T ripped me off. Not only did I get lied to but they kept giving me the run around. Now I am stuck with a 150 dollar phone which I will never use. I was so upset I cancelled all my AT&T stuff. My cable, my home phone, my cable modem for my Internet and ESPECIALLY my cell phone.

Wendy, regardless of what the circumstances were pertaining to the events surrounding your cancellation, technically, AT&T Wireless is a completely separate entity from AT&T. AT&T split off into 4 different legal entities on 7/9/01 & the Long Distance, Wireless, Broadband, etc. do not control or report to one another.
Canceling one of the others for AT&T Wireless' actions is like tearing up an Office Max credit card because K-Mart refused to take an item back (Office Max USED to be owned by K-Mart).
It may be an avenue to vent, but no further harm was done to AT&T Wireless by you canceling the other AT&T Services. They are not accountable to or responsible for each other. The ONLY thing all 4 companies have in common is the beginning of their name, (AT&T). Not being personally aware of your specific situation, for what it's worth I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that may have experienced.
